RARE ITALIAN BRANDISTOCK CIRCA 1660 with an extending blade that fully retracts into the iron tubular shaft, rolled and seam welded from a single sheet of steel, the head is very finely wrought and engraved with the spike in the shape of a long bird’s beak with detailed eyes and beak line, the spike end is finely engraved and wrought as a bird’s talon with four claws, the diamond shaped guide for extracting the slender lozenge section blade, is closed by a hinged cover with an engraved knop finial 44in.
