A fine Chinese Chine de commande export porcelain saucer, 18th C Dia.: 12 cm Qianlong, ca. 1760 The saucer finely painted with European figures after the print Le Printemps, ‘Spring’, showing a lady standing with a basket of flowers beside a gentleman holding a spade and another lady watering plants, all in a continuous landscape with pale blue-enamel washed sky, the cover with plants, a tree and similar blue sky surmounted by a bud finial. See also: - A famille rose cream jug and cover, with Marchant Asian Arts. - Chinese Export Porcelain, Chine de Commande, D. F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, no. 209 & 210, for a cream jug and cover together with a spoon tray of this design. The author also illustrates an engraving by Nicolas de Larmessin III (1684-1755), part of a series of engravings, Les Quatre Saisons, devoted to the four seasons. These were produced between 1740 and 1745 after paintings by Nicolas Lancret (1690-1743) of 1738. - A part tea and coffee service of this pattern was sold by Sotheby’s London in their auction of Fine Chinese Export Porcelain, 6th November 1973, lot 214, p. 60, and colour page opposite. - A plate of this pattern in the Victoria and Albert Museum, Basil Ionides Bequest, CIRC. 159-1963, is illustrated by Rose Kerr and Luisa E. Mengoni in Chinese Export Porcelain, no. 80, p. 63. - A coffee pot and cover of this pattern is illustrated by William Motley in the Cohen & Cohen exhibition catalogue Now and Then, 2005, no. 22, p. 47. A Moorcroft tête à tête tea set in the "Violet" pattern, designed by Sally Tuffin, comprising teapot, jug, sugar bowl and two cups and saucers (boxed) CONDITION REPORTS Teapot - some crazing throughout, some small chips the rim of the lid. Spout of teapot feels rough in one section. Cream jug - some crazing throughout, some of the spout feels rough. Sugar bowl, some light crazing throughout. One of the teacups has a small chip to the rim, crazing throughout. Second cup has various crazing. Saucers with various signs of crazing, various small scratches etc throughout. A 20th Century lacquered brass cased lantern clock in the 17th Century style CONDITION REPORTS There is some kind of mechanism within the bell - please see images for more details. Unknown if in working order. Brass is rubbed in several places, especially to the sides, there is a screw missing to the front right corner finial, and a pin missing from the front left corner number plate. Scuffs and scrapes all over, especially to the feet and lower section. General wear and tear including pitting, discolouration, etc. For movement, see images.
A blue Carlton Ware vase and cover decorated with "New Mikado" pattern No. 2729, a Carlton Ware vase and cover decorated with "Barge" pattern No. 2519, and a Carlton Ware pedestal bowl in black, gilt and red "Mikado" pattern No. 3158 (3) CONDITION REPORTS The New Mikado pattern vase and cover has wear to the gilding of the fo finial, all items have wear and tear to include surface scratching, wear to the enamel and gilding.
A Georgian silver teapot with embossed acanthus and floral decoration and pineapple finial, the side bearing a coat of arms (by Benjamin Godfrey, London, 1740), total weight approx 30 oz CONDITION REPORTS The handle is loose, and various holes on the handle and there is a dent, there is a large lead repair to one side of the handle, there are various dents, pin head size and bigger, all over as well as various various pitting, there is a further lead repair to the bottom of the spout (see images). There are no marks in the lid. The engravings are very worn. The foot is mis-shapen / squat.
A large Magneta electric wall clock (from a bank), the dial with Roman numerals, housed in a walnut case CONDITION REPORTS This appears to have come out of a larger case or mount as there are brass fittings to the sides. There is a large split to he moulding in the bottom right quarter. There are splits to the joins, there are several chips and knocks, dirt. The face is discoloured and flaking. The finial at top is broken, the moulding around the face of the clock is broken and split in parts. It is not known whether working. Has general wear and tear, scuffs etc. Please see images for further details.
A 17th Century and later oak Flemish court cupboard The raised back with a plain frieze above two sphere and acorn shaped finials above a plank top and a cental panel inlaid with initials RW, flanked by two invert moulded cupboard doors above three invert graduated moulded cupboard doors each centred with a button finial raised on front ring turned and baluster supports, above a pot board raised on bun feet. 145x180x52cms.
A Victorian silver novelty mustard pot in the form of a standing owl, inset with glass eyes, the body cast and chased with a textured plume, replacement blue glass liner and associated modern white metal mustard ladle with mouse finial, sponsor's mark for George Richards and Edward Brown, London, date letter is rubbed however is possibly for 1861, some splitting to where hinge meets cover, height 9cm, weight (without liner and spoon) 2.8 ozt / 86 g approx.
