Width 12 ins, height including finial 20 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good condition with only minor scuffs and scratches as one would expect. The silvered brass dial is in generally good order although a little dirty. The movement is complete and appears to be working. We have the pendulum.
An Edwardian mahogany grandmother clock, in the George III style, with three-train fusee musical movement, eight bells, four gongs and strike gong, with both Westminster and Eight Bells chime, with moon phase to the arch, face width 9 ins, with long trunk door beneath flanked by quarter column corners and raised on splayed bracket feet. CONDITION REPORT: The height to the top of the finial is 86.5 ins. Width across the bottom of the hood 15 ins. Depth at deepest point 9 ins. The case is in generally very good condition and does not require any repair or restoration. The trunk door is not warped and there are no serious splits, cracks or significant problems with the case. The only cracks in evidence are on the left and the right hand side returns of the top of the pagoda hood. These are simply stress fractures and in our opinion fairly insignificant. The clock is triple fusee and is currently ticking away. The movement is a little dirty and does wind on all three trains. The movement does strike and chime when operated manually by moving the pointers, this is a little sporadic because the movement does need cleaning. As stated as far as we can tell the only real issue is that the movement requires a clean and lubrication.
A Victorian walnut turnover top card table, rectangular, with marquetry corners, turned supports, centre stretcher and downswept scroll legs terminating in castors. Width 36 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The top of the piece is well figured, not warped and in generally very good condition. The green baize lined interior is in generally good condition as is the banded edge. The hinges are solid and original. The piece is structurally very sound. The four turned supports are in good order as is the centre stretcher and the four legs. They all have their original castors. There is no evidence of any woodworm or any repairs to the piece. There is a turned finial to either side between the supports. The right hand finial has the top section missing and the left hand side finial is rubbed and scuffed. These are the only minor issues.
A large pair of 19th century Portuguese lidded urns, each with lobed and floral encrusted bodies and raised on a square base. Height 25 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The knop to one urn has been detached and re-glued. The same lid has a 7 ins old hairline crack running from the lip up into the body of the lid. There are also four under edge lip chips. The base of the urn is in generally good order. There is one chip on the bottom left hand corner of the square base and several other minor scuffs and abrasions but no significant issues. The second urn has a similar break to the finial. The finial is loose and requires re-gluing. There are three under edge lip chips to the lid. The beak to the left hand handle has been broken and there is a loss here. We have approximately 70% of the piece that is missing. There is also a significant break and poor repair to the top lip of the urn. This runs for approximately 10 ins. There are five separate pieces four of which are in situ and one loose. There are some minor losses here. The remainder of the base is in generally good order with the exception of a large chip to one corner of the foot rim and several small scuffs and abrasions.
