A Pair of 19th Century Percussion Duelling Pistols by John Manton & Son, London, 28 bore, each with 25cm octagonal blued steel barrel marked on the top flat DOVER STREET LONDON, the underside numbered 6028, with no visible proof marks, silver blade fore-sight, notched rear sight, the tang engraved with foliate/martial trophy, with blued hammer, the foliate engraved steel lock plate signed JNo.MANTON & SON and with slide safety, the spurred trigger guard engraved with martial trophy and numbered 6028, with pineapple finial, two steel ramrod pipes, walnut half stock with horn fore-end tip, chequered bag butt with silver escutcheon engraved B.v.A,,39cm, contained in the original mahogany case with inset brass ring handle to the hinged cover opening to reveal a later green baize lined case fitted with original accessories of ivory powder flask with brass syringe type measure, nipple key, brush, steel bullet mould, lignum vitae mallet with brass screw end, brass jag, cap tin and lead balls. (Some restoration) Provenance:- Originally the property of Baron von Arnsdorf, Germany. Survived a bombing raid during the Second World War when they were buried under rubble. Acquired from the vendor's German friend.. Actions work, holding at full and half cock. One pistol has deep pitting to the lock plate, barrel tang ramrod pipes and underside of the barrel. Both pistols have wear to the extremities and bruising to the stocks. The case has been restored and has some splits to the cover.
A 19th Century Side by Side Double Barrel Percussion Sporting Gun by Jno.Jones & Son,, London, the 72cm twist barrels with gold double lines at the breech, the rib marked LONDON, with dolphin hammers, foliated engraved and signed lock plates, walnut half stock with chequered grip, with recurving steel trigger guard with pineapple finial, brass tipped wood ramrod, 114cm. Action works, holds at full and half cock. Rust pitting to barrels, trigger guard and butt plate. Bruising to stock., with crack to left side of fore-end and behind the left lock plate.

A Leti Container and a Batak container, Indonesia, 20th century, the Leti container and cover in the shape of a horn decorated with a lizard and ending with a human head set under and open worked elaborate coiffure, 40cm; the Batak container off cylindrical shape ending with a double human figure on one side and a caricatural figure on the other, 53cm high; brown and black patina and a Batak Naga Morsarang container, North Sumatra, Indonesia, 20th century, in the shape of a horn decorated with overall incised geometric motives, the lid with a large animal head set under a diminutive rider, rubbed brown patina, 41cm long and seven other related items and a polychrome mask (11) The Naga Morsarang were used to hold magical substances. A collection of eight Go to Bed matchboxes, second half 19th century, to include two lacquered and painted papier mache examples in Chinoiserie taste, with pagoda covers and coarse striking surface to the underside, 8.5cm high; a Sycamore Mauchlineware example, of oval section, with striking paper to underside, 6cm high; and five various Victorian engraved brass examples, to include one patent 'Prince Albert' safety box; and a turned walnut and bone mounted string box, of circular section, probably early 19th century, 7cm highCondition Report: All bear the usual minor marks, knocks, scuffs and scratches overall consistent with age and use.One of the chinoiserie examples has a repair to the knop finial (and slight surrounding craquelure to cover), and the other has two small chips to the interior rim. One or two small losses to paint.Two of the metal examples have small amounts of light green residue to the recesses, possibly oxidisation or polish.The blue and white enamels are slightly worn and there are losses overall.
