12th Dynasty, 1938 - 1759 BC.A carnelian finial of globular form with four heads carved in high relief, each facing outward. The faces are rounded with almond-shaped eyes, straight noses, and slightly parted lips. Each head is framed by a centrally parted striated wig extending down the sides. Each finial has a gold-gilded surface framed by a finely twisted wire border following the contours of the heart.
