An 18th century Chinese smoked agate teapot, Qianlong period (1736-95), the tapered rectangular body with slightly convex sides, scroll handle to rear with short and stout upright spout, pagoda form lid with canted edge cube finial, with original hand written purchase invoice dated '8/8/40', 6in. (15.25cm.) long, 4¾in. (12cm.) high. * Condition: 20mm star crack to left side centre. 6mm triangle form natural flaw to underside of lid. Minute chip to front lower edge under spout.
A small Chinese carved agate Koro, probably 19th century, the domed cover with kylin finial seated upon a cauldron form body with elephant mask and loose ring handles to sides, on tripod cabriole supports, with carved hardwood base, 4in. (10.2cm.) high. * Condition: Tiny frit to underside of cover rim. Another to rim of body, plus three small flaws in stone to rim. Good condition overall.
A Chinese ebonised miniature soapstone teapot, 19th century, circular with floral pendant engraved decoration and carved pierced prunus branch rim, lid with bud finial, 4in. (10.2cm.) long; together with a similar pale celadon and russet soapstone teapot, 4in. (10.2cm.) long, lacks cover. (2) * Condition: - Ebonised: Some wear to finish throughout to edges and raised detail.- Celadon: Lacks cover. Otherwise good.
A German porcelain coffee pot, first half of 20th century, of twelve sided baluster form with raised decorated foliate and elliptical panels, the waisted neck with shell pendants and standing upon a flared, fluted foot, with fluted mask spout and foliate capped scroll handle, with sprigged floral decoration and gilt edges, the peaked cover with spire finial, underglaze blue crossed swords to base, 10¾in. (27.5cm.) high. * Condition: Two chips to lid. Gilt to rim, foot, finial and handle rubbed. 60mm section possibly detached and glued back to edge of underside of base - there is a small chip to edge of this area (this is possibly a manufacturing fault and not later damage). Firing crack of 20mm to mask at spout.
An early 19th century pearlware coffee pot, baluster form with scroll handle and waisted foot, blue and white transfer printed with an Oriental landscape with three figures in a garden, domed lid with ball finial, 11½in. (29.25cm.) high. * Condition: 60mm vertical crack from top rim, small 20mm crack in front of handle, two tong indents to spout (from the making), 20mm chip to underside of base.
A John Roger & Son blue and white pearlware 'Monopteros' pattern covered supper dish, 1820s, fan form with lion finial, impressed factory mark, 12in. (30.75cm.) long, a/f; together with a similar dish, with transfer printed decoration of Oriental fisherman in a landscape, with scroll finial, impressed star mark to base, 14½in. (37cm.) long. (2) * Condition: - Rogers dish: Restoration to one corner of base. Cover good.- Fisherman dish: 6cm. hairline to centre of cover. Base good, with some glaze scratching to corners of underside.
A fine collection of Royal and political ephemera, primarily relating to paper correspondence between the influential Lord and Lady Tollemache and various eminent figures including Sir Winston Churchill and Viscount Cherwell, to include a hand signed letter from Sir Anthony Bevir (private secretary to Churchill from 1940 to 1945) to Lady Tollemache informing her of Churchill's nomination to the King of her forthcoming M.B.E.; two invitations for the 1937 Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth for seats A2 and A3, also to include the covering letter signed to the upper left by the King and bearing the Duke of Norfolk's signature to lower right in 'On His Majesty's Service' envelope with Earl Marshalls office stamp to front; a telegram reading 'Thank you so much = Churchill', dated 1 December 1950; a letter to Lord Tollemache on Churchill's behalf signed by John Peck, the Prime Minister's Private Secretary; a letter to Lady Tollemache signed by Viscount Cherwell on embossed paper from the offices of the war cabinet; two facsimile 'Thank you for kind wishes on my Birthday' letters from Churchill; an interesting letter to Lord Tollemache from the Ministry of Aircraft on his suggestion to convert the Lancaster Bomber into a fighting plane; a certificate 'Of the grant of the dignity of an additional member of the civil division of the order of the British empire to Baroness Lynette Tollemache'; a pencil scribed letter to Lord Cherwell from Lady Tollemache informing him of her husband's illness; two photographs of Lord Tollemache in full military attire; a selection of family seals including an agate example with castle turret stamp, two ebonised examples, one with single initial, the other with lion passant holding a cross, a white metal seal with globular onyx finial with single initial below crown, a gilt acorn seal with single initial and a miniature horn piece with engraved initial to underside; and a small letter print block, *The Tollemache family is an English noble family, initially based at Bentley, Suffolk. The family acquired Helmingham Hall by marriage in the 15th-century, which remains the family seat.

Crichton seems to be spelt with a 'g' in both places on this clock, but in all other information about this firm, it is spelt with a 'c'.The firm retailed the animal decanters made by Alexander Crichton and it could be assumed that there was a family connection.
