Early 18th century A.D.. Both with rounded finial curved at the end. Exhibited at the museum 'Museo de los Naufragios y Tesoros' in Punta del Este, Uruguay, from 2003-2004 and then in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay until 2005. 69 grams total, 17-18.5 cm (6 3/4 - 7 1/4 in.). 13th century B.C.. With lentoid-section blade, tongue-shaped in plan, with integral tapering hilt with flared finial, lateral flanges to accept a panel of bone to each face forming the grip. Cf. Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran - The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, p.381, cat.13. 195 grams, 33.5 cm (13 1/8 in.). A late 18th century mahogany longcase clock, signed John W. Wainwright, Nottingham, eight day movement, arched silvered dial, boxstrung outlines, height 226cm.Condition report:With two weights, pendulum but not winding keys and no case key. The pendulum rid is somewhat bent. Not set up in the saleroom to test if in full working order. The dial has been married to the movement - you can faintly see on the face where the new rods have been adjoined (near numerals 1 and 11, and then within the scrolled design below the date aperture). No record of service history. Movements does appear complete. The hood has a loose eagle and ball finial, and the top of the hood is covered in an old layer of tape which has a puncture wound. The door to the hood has split through the top left corner of the glazed frame, and the glass is cracked across the width. The right hand moulding that the hood rests on is missing. Some inlay is lifting throughout. The base of the case has patches of missing veneer (some of which are present) with quite a large loss to the front left foot.

A rare Derby punch kettle, c.1760-65, the body well painted with dishevelled birds in flight and perched on and beneath leafy branches, the cover painted with moths and surmounted with a lemon finial, mounted with a wicker bound ormolu overhead handle, 26.5cm high. In his discussion of the kettle, Rice states: "Lady Schreiber in Volume I of her Journals refers to a visit on September 15th 1869 to Mr Hodges’ collection at Lyme where there was a ‘Chelsea tea Kettle (I should think unique), painted in birds’. At that time all early Derby pieces were attributed to Chelsea, and it is difficult to avoid the conclusion that the particular kettle to which Lady Schreiber refers and which she professes to covet was in fact the kettle illustrated here”.

A good and large Grainger's Worcester reticulated vase and cover, date code for 1893, the U-shaped body finely pierced with a floral and foliate band between narrow flowerhead borders picked out in gilt, above an acanthus leaf section, raised on a knopped stem and pierced square foot, the tall cover with a repeated palmette design and hollow gilt finial, printed marks, 48.2cm (vase and cover).
