Davenport green dessert service, painted with titled landscapes within green and gilt borders, to include two footed lidded tureens, two rectangular dishes, and five plates, printed and painted marks to bases, mid 19th century, (11) the tureens measure 20cm high Condition report: Overall fine crazing to most pieces. The gilding and enamel are generally in good order with only small signs of use. 1st tureen: finial restuck, one handle restuck, the base broken and restuck. 2nd tureen: finial restuck, both handles restuck (one stapled) hairline cracks to the base. Restuck chip to under rim. Rectangular dishes: both have short hairlines within the body emanating from the pierced areas. Plates: one plate cracked across the centre with associated foot chip. A 1796 pattern heavy cavalry officer’s full dress sword, straight fullered blade 32½”, marked J J Runkel Solingen on backstrap and deeply etched with 1803-16 Royal Arms and Supporters, crowned GR cypher, trophies and flourishes, copper gilt hilt with broad boat shaped guard, slotted for crossguard, with shell finial, knucklebow which screws into ball pommel, simulated wirebound grip, with top half only of brass mounted leather scabbard, the locket engraved “Prosser late Cullam” etc. GC, the hilt retaining approx 50% original gilt (small pitting patches, mostly to blade edges, scabbard AF). A Dutch grenadier officer’s sword c 1820, plain curved fullered blade 31”, brass stirrup hilt, the crossguard with large acorn finial, lozenge shaped langets, the outer one bearing an applied grenade, knucklebow embossed with crowned “W” (William I, 1815-1840) within oak wreath, forward sloping large lion’s head pommel and plain backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its WM scabbard (minor dents, throat mount missing) with single ring. GC (hilt a little loose). Plate 10
A German officer’s dress sword c 1890, straight fullered blade 28”, finely etched with crowned “L”, state shield and trophies within elaborate scrolled foliate panels, gilt for 2” at forte, brass hilt with turn down shell guard bearing WM German eagle, knucklebow with quillon and pronounced curl into pineapple pommel with button finial, simulated silver wirebound grip.
