A William IV lobed cup and cover, repousse with roses, other flowers and foliage, double reeded scroll handles, the cover with heraldic lion salient finial, on circular foot with conforming ornament, inscribed "Presented by the Owners of the Hou'ble E.I. Company's Ship Bridgewater to Capt. John Rennie Manderson in unqualified approbation of his conduct as Commander of that ship. During the tremendous hurricane of the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th March 1830, and in general testimony of their sense of obligation to him for his disinterested and zealous exertions on their behalf throughout a voyage of continued difficulties and disasters", 15 1/2" high, probably by William Bateman, London 1830, 73ozs.
