(37cms), 78oz.
A George III coffee pot, by Reid & Sons, Newcastle 1817, engraved body, handle and spout, acorn finial to cover, engraved with coat of arms and crest, raised on spreading foot, 9in. (23cms) high, 24oz gross. PROVENANCE: Bought from the Lilburn Tower House Sale in 1975. Lilburn Tower is the seat of the Collingwood family and although worn, the crest looks to be that of the Collingwood family.
An Indian white metal coffee pot, circular tapered and fluted design, decorated with chased and engraved shell design, the domed cover with elephant finial and basket weave handle; an Indian white metal pierced and lobed circular fruit basket, decorated with animals amongst foliage, the pot 6 1/2in. (16.5cms), the sugar bowl 4 1/4in. (11cms); and an Indian white metal baluster-shaped cream jug, with embossed panels of deity, scroll handle, 4in. (10cms). (3)
A rare pink lustre covered tobacco jar, possibly by Harwood, Stockton, painted with "Thomas . Buston Born. May . 24th 1831" and with `Sailors farewell` print, pink lustre and printed floral wreaths, the weight, containing a match box, printed with a tobacco harvesting scene, c.1852. (finial restored) 7in. (18cms) high. NB: The attribution is Hardwoods is based on the `Sailors Farewell` print. These items were usually given as 21st birthday gifts and show the birth date and not the date of gift.
Robert Swan, Bridlington: an walnut cased longcase clock, arched brass roman dial, with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, nameplate signed `Robert Swan, Bridlington`, with strike silent dial to arch, ornate dolphin and scroll pattern spandrels, the five pillar movement with anchor escapement, the case with brass eagle and globe finial, arched convex frieze above a glazed door flanked by fluted columns, arched and banded waist door on panel base with bracket feet, 97 1/2in. high.
