A 19th century French brown patinated bronze inkwell, the tapering reservoir boldly cast in alternating tones of high and relief with friezes of frolicking putti, surmounted by female caryatids, domed hinged cover with reserves of beetles and insects, bud finial, spreading circular base cast with fruiting vine, stamped A.D. in the maquette, 12.5cm high, c. 1880 Condition Report: Generally good condition. Some light rubbing to detail, minor surface wear and scratches. Signs of solder to rim. The whole mildly askew, so should be reassembled and tightened.
WMF - a German Secessionist silvered metal kidney-shaped inkstand, centred by a domed inkwell cast as a flowerhead with urnular finial, the recess with sinuous scrolls, egg border, 19.5cm wide, model no. 135, Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik foundry marks, c. 1910 Condition Report: Generally fair. Tarnish, wear and scratches. Minor dent to cover edge and stand edge - however displaying well. The enclosed glass inkwell with former damage now ground out.

An Indian 'executioner's' sword of impressive proportions, heavy curved blade 31 in., stepped back, double edged for the last 11 in., 2.5 inches at the broadest point, narrow back fuller, with impressed decoration and a punched mark near the hilt; all-steel Indo-Muslim hilt with slender langets and short quillons, swollen grip, large disk pommel with drooping finial, pierced steel lanyard ring, hand guard of Hindu type, lacks scabbard.
