A George IV Silver Teapot and an Edward VII Sugar Caster, the teapot by Robert Gainsford, Sheffield 1823, with floral leaf and berry finial, the bulbous body chased and embossed with floral and leaf scroll ornament, angular handle, 4.75ins high, gross weight 11.3ozs, the sugar caster, London 1902, with turned finial to pierced domed cover, on circular footrim, 8ins high, weight 7.2ozs Teapot - the handle is loose at top and bottom but not detached. The lid hinge moves very slightly side to side when lifted but is well seated. There is some typical light wear/scattered scratching to the body but otherwise the teapot appears to be in reasonably good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.Caster - there a dent to the lower part together with a very small flat dent to the lower part. There is a small flat dent to the upper caster and the knop appears to be very slightly out of true. There is a small circa 0.25ins split to the upper caster area. Some typical all over minor scratching/wear.

It was contested to mark the coronation of Elizabeth II, with Aberdeen, Celtic, Hibs, Rangers, Arsenal, Manchester Utd., Newcastle Utd., and Tottenham being invited to take part.Despite not being favourites, Celtic saw off Arsenal (1952/53 Division 1 champions) and Manchester Utd. Mahogany stick barometer with a broken pediment and brass finial, silvered register with engraved predictions and vernier, unenclosed bulb cistern tube with mercury present. Carved oak aneroid barometer with an 8” porcelain dial, predictions, and a boxed mercury thermometer above, steel indicating and recording hands within a brass bezel with a flat beveled glass.

Having a fully enclosed back, the plain back panel with deep frame moulding, below a carnation and tulip-flower carved and scroll profiled cresting rail, pyramid finial uprights, the boarded seat with moulded edge, on block and ball-turned front legs, joined by a ring and reel block centred fore-rail and plain side and rear stretchers, turned front feet, 96cm high, 51cm wide.
Of rectangular form with canted corners, the lid with beaded 'urn' finial, all sides engraved, including hunting and tavern scenes, all sides of the body again engraved, the front inscribed 'VERNON ARMS' 'BAKEWELL' below 'Robert Gladwin', with further hunting and fishing scenes, the underside engraved 'C. HILL', 'Engraver', '1885', on cast claw and ball feet, height 12.8cm, width 9cm.
