The black curly hair covers the ushnisha with lotus diamond finial.
Bronze with silver inlayTibet , 15th centuryDimensions: Height 14 cm by 10 cmWeight: 496 gramsBuddha seated with legs crossed on a double reverse lotus throne with beaded rim. Dressed in a flowy robe covering the right shoulder, no jewellery at all. He is touching the earth with his right hand, bhumispharsa mudra and holding a small vessel in his other hand. The Buddha used this gesture when he attained enlightenment under the bodhi tree. His earlobes are elongated and bear stretched-out ear holes, the face is smiling with downcast eyes, a raised urna between the eyebrows. Tiny balls cover the head and ushnisha which is topped by a lotus bud finial.

Sheffield Interest; A Walker and Hall Silver Casket, presented to Alderman William Farewell Wardley J.P. with Honorary Freedom of the City of Sheffield July 1924, of rectangular form with scrollwork to each corner and bracket feet, the sides with engraved panels and inset with painted porcelain panel of the Town Hall, the reverse with his initial, hallmarked for Sheffield 1924, 21cm long, 19cm high (including the Sheffield Council Coat of Arms finial to the cover), enclosed in a glazed oak case together with related scroll certificate, a Butler, Sheffield cased set of scissors, a Sheffield Trades Technical Society cased silver medallion, a silver cigarette case presented by the Parks Committee 1928, photographs, book, etc. *Mr Wardley (1849-1941) was the first Labour Mayor of Sheffield in 1920-21 , the badges of office are also included.

A good, late 19th century Vienna style wall clock, the two-piece enamel dial having Roman numerals and red half-hour markers, the case of polished walnut with full-length glazed door, applied turned and carved decoration surmounted by an eagle finial, with two brass cased weights, wooden rod pendulum and crank key.
