MINTON; a pate-sur-pate vase and cover, decorated with a cameo head of Minerva signed 'Birks', height 21.5cm, with a Minton twin handled claret ground vase and cover, a similar Spode vase and cover, a Royal Worcester vase and reticulated cover decorated with flowers, shape number G210, and two further Royal Worcester vases painted with roses (6).Additional InformationThe Minton white ground vase is lacking the tip of the lid and the lid also with some restoration, one of the handles is also restored and there is a fine crazing to the glaze throughout, the finial to the lid of the Minton claret ground vase has been broken off and glued back and there are several scratches to the claret glaze and and to the gilding, other items with some minor rubbing to the gilding and a few minor glaze scratches.
SEVRES: a pair of cache pots each with pineapple finial above twin vignettes to the lid painted with figures in landscapes with gilt scrolling borders and cobalt blue ground, the bases with pierced metal rim, scrolling handles and raised on three step supports, the lids with printed and painted marks, height 18cm, width 19cm.Additional InformationBoth lids have a couple of tiny chips and some fritting to the edges. One of the bases has a 4cm fine crack running through the body, both have minimal rubbing to the gilt decoration. The gilt metal mounts are quite pitted on both, general surface wear.
A 19th century French jasperware mantel clock with inlaid and applied gilt metal detail, the finial with a maiden seated on a plinth above circular dial set with both Arabic and Roman numerals above gilt metal plinth depicting cherubs in landscape, height 41cm.Additional InformationWe cannot guarantee that the clock is in full working order. It’s pendulum but no key. The dial has some chips at winding apertures and a nick below XII, three hair line cracks also and some scratches. The figure to the top has a poorly repaired break to the neck, a glue repaired break to the left arm and also to the left foot, lacking lyre. Figure is also slightly loose and grubby throughout. Metal plateau to the top of the clock is loose and the clock is grubby throughout. Some small chips and losses to the case.

MANCHESTER 1857; a rare and important hallmarked silver centrepiece by John Samuel Hunt, the finial with cherub beside a winged bird holding a flaming torch aloft, with central column inscribed 'A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever' and three figures representing the Arts, the domed circular base inscribed with some of the great artists including Rembrandt, Reynolds, Turner and Raphael, with three further cherub mounts, three oval plaques and further applied inscription 'Exhibition of Art Treasures of the United Kingdom', London 1859, height 79cm, approx 227.5ozt/7076g.This piece is illustrated as plate 129 in Masterpiece, Industrial Art & Sculpture.Footnote: with the hallmark clearly being two years after the event, it is probable that this piece was made in homage to a piece at the exhibition, or as an additional later award.Additional InformationAround the base one of the applied panels inscribed 'Exhibition' is missing the final five letters. There are traces of gilding throughout, general surface wear. There is also a further loss to the applied inscription around the base, where it should say 'Kingdom', this is missing. The three female figures have some rubbing to the raised parts, but general tarnishing and toning throughout. The piece is English sterling silver grade.

A Victorian mahogany chiffonier, mid-19th century, with foliate scroll carved back and shelf, with moulded frieze drawer above two arched panelled cupboard doors enclosing two drawers and two adjustable shelves, flanked by scroll supports, on plinth base, 158cm high x 124cm wide x 46.5cm deep Condition Report: The drawer linings are made of pine. There is a pendant finial drop which is missing from the left side of the underside of the upper galleried shelf. The scroll that supports it is present but detached. There is some noticeble surface wear, scratching and deterioration throughout. Some slight flaking to surface (probably old varnish) throughout and some slight splitting and losses to veneers at edges, Some small patches of veneer have been restuck. All of the drawers are stiff and the central lockable drawer has been cut down at front.
