Japanese Satsuma Kyoto tea for two, Meiji period, decorated with figures in a garden landscape, each with signature panel to base, H17cm of teapot (7) Condition Report Tea pot - The lid has a crack which has been restored and re-painted in areas. Hairline crack running 2cm down from the rim of the teapot. Milk Jug - some loss of gilding and crazing. Sugar bowl - The lid finial has been restored. One handle has been broken in three places and restored. Two cups and saucers - some loss of gilding, light scratches to saucers. All pieces have light crazing and some loss of gilding.

A Charles Frodsham Congreve rolling ball skeleton timepiece with three dials, the third being in the form of a finial, visable escapement and a tilting table under a perspex dome, h. 43 cm*The clock has separate dials for hours, minutes and seconds, the latter moving every fifteen seconds as the table tilts. Individual seconds are indicated by the seconds indicator bar located horizontally across the table. Per day, the tungsten ball moves 6.432 miles. A William III Silver Bowl and Cover:By Pierre Platel, London 1700, of plain circular form, applied with short scroll handles and raised on a spread circular foot CONDITION REPORT: The hallmarks - fully marked underneath bowl and the cover is stamped with maker's mark and lion's head erazed mark. These have wear. The colour - this is bright and the handles have had restoration - this visible as they have been pushed back. into the bowl. The cover - the small knop finial is probably a replacement as there are signs of restoration.

A large Chinese celadon glazed funerary jar, Song Dynasty, the slender pear-shaped vase applied with a border of twelve standing figures with a striding dragon applied in relief around the neck, with further figures and mythical animals, surmounted by a tall domed cover surmounted by a crane or egret finial, 81.5cm high Jars of this form were placed in pairs in tombs and contained offerings to the dead. The jar is replete with ancient traditional Chinese symbolism; the bird finial represents the Vermilion Bird of the South and the applied dragon at the neck represents the Green Dragon of the East. The mythical figures could be identified as a sun god and star gods, together with cranes, the symbols of longevity. Compare a very similar funerary jar illustrated in S.Pierson, Qingbai ware: Chinese Porcelain of the Song and Yuan Dynasties , 2002, p180, no.97.
