A Minton vase and cover, signed, decorated with sailing vessels, and a Derby reticulated vase with gilt floral sprays. Heights respectively 14 cm and 11 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lid is in good structural condition. The finial has rubbing to the gilding and there is a small loss to the gilding on the edge of the lid. We think that this is only a loss to the gilding rather than damage to the porcelain. The vase itself appears to be in good order but we feel that one of the handles has been restored. The restoration is very good but the handle feels slightly soft at the base when tapped. The base has some minor losses to the gilding.
A boulle marquetry cased bracket clock, with brass chapter ring, Roman numerals and two-train striking movement. Width 9.5 ins, height 17 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock winds on both trains. The dial is a little rubbed in places but in generally good condition. The velvet backing to the dial is a little discoloured but has no significant losses or damage. The case is in generally good order. The brasswork to the rear corner of the caddy top is lifting in the bottom right hand corner for approximately 2 cm square. There are small pieces of brass and tortoiseshell missing in this area but this is fairly minor. The front right hand corner of the ebony veneered cornice has a small surface loss and there is a crack to the return on the left hand side. Both the right hand and left hand panels are in good order as is the front door and surround. The plinth base is in good condition and the feet are original. The rear door is in good order. The rear top right hand finial has been repaired at some point and the top half of this is missing. All other finials are present.
A Cloisonne lidded vase, low squat form, decorated with birds and flowers. Diameter approximately 11 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are two very small dents to the lid. There does not appear to be any enamel missing to the outside but there is the inside of the lid. The centre finial has been re glued into place. The base to the piece is slightly loose and requires refixing. It has probably been dropped and there is evidence of cracking to the interior enamel around the foot rim. The main body of the piece has one small 4 mm loss to the brown and gilt sparkling enamel on the lower side of the body the upper section appears to be in good order.
