A RARE CHINESE GILT BRONZE INCENSE BURNER AND COVER, DING, 18TH CENTURY The rectangular body raised on four scroll-ended feet, with a flange to each corner and with two upright strap handles decorated with chevrons, cast in high relief with panels containing small birds and insects with prunus, pine, lotus and chrysanthemum, all encircled by inscribed leaf designs, the cover depicting elaborate peony flowers and with a Buddhist lion dog forming the finial, 18cm high. INDIAN WHITE METAL THREE PIECE TEA SERVICE comprising tea pot, sugar and cream, elaborate embossed and chased scrolling design with Hindu diety scenes in relief, many riding sacred animals, the tea pot finial of a four armed figure riding an elephant, teapot spout in the form of a trumpeting elephant head, cream spout in the form of a tiger's head, chased handles modelled as elephant heads, approximately 1598g, teapot 17cm high
A Victorian silver inkstand, maker's mark of GR The pierced rectangular base engraved with a presentation inscription and dated 1849, mounted with two silver lidded glass inkwells and a taper stick. 26 cm wide. CONDITION REPORTS: Some denting, slight misshaping to feet, one inkwell cracked and re-glued, the other missing part of top section and chipped to base with lid detached but present, one lid with finial lacking but both slightly misshapen. Approximate silver weight 18 troy ounces.
A Swedish silver three piece coffee service, hallmarked for Helsingborg 1912, maker's mark of M.B. Stehn Each piece stop gadrooned, the coffee pot with pineapple finial. Coffee pot 22 cm high. (3) CONDITION REPORTS: Generally in good condition, expected wear, approximately 925 grammes all in.

A French dragoon’s brass helmet c 1830, tall brass skull with front and back peaks, leather backed wire loop chinchain with rayed ear roundels, “frosted” ear to ear plate and back band, the front embossed with a large grenade in wreath, tall comb with Medusa head finial and palm wreath in front, and inverted tear drop embossed side panels, red (faded) “shaving brush” plume in holder, black hair crest and tail plume, white feather side plume, leather and cloth liner (replaced). A Vic Midshipman’s dirk, SE blade 17½”, by Matthews, Portsea, Portsmouth, etched with crowned fouled anchor and crowned VR cypher within scrolled foliate panels, regulation copper hilt with acorn finial crossguard and central crowned fouled anchor in wreath, lion’s head pommel and backstrap, wirebound (AF) sharkskin grip, in its brass mounted leather scabbard with 2 opposing rings and dress knot. Basically GC (some wear overall)
An early 19th century Continental naval officer’s dress sword, slender shallow diamond section blade, 36”, with twin central fuller for half length, brass hilt with slightly turn down double shell guard, the outer shell bearing applied fouled anchor, the inner one deliberately bent down to ovoid wear to uniform, knucklebow with stud finial, plain ovoid pommel, solid silver plated simulated wirebound grip.GC (minor wear)
A good Dutch Grenadier officer’s sword, c 1935, slightly curved, fullered plated blade 33½” by Eickhorn, marked “Regiment Grenadier” on backstrap, with “Yzerhouwer” in scroll on one side near forte, gilt stirrup hilt with acorn finial to crossguard, lozenge langets, the outer one bearing a WM grenade, foliate panel on outer edge of guard with WM crowned “W” in oval, lion’s head pommel, wirebound fishskin grip, in its plated scabbard with single ring. Near VGC, the blade and hilt retaining virtually all original finish (scabbard plating slightly bubbled with rust patches at point) Plate 8
An early 19th century Indian jambiya, curved blade 9”, with etched foliate panels at forte, shallow stylized twin fullers, tapering point, flattened iron blade top and cup to hilt, bone grips secured by 3 small studs, 3 lobed pommel with small projection, in its leather covered sheath with pierced brass chape and acorn finial. GC (minor pitting patches). Plate 11
A steel barrelled percussion blunderbuss, converted from flintlock , by J.G. Lang c 1800, 30½” overall, swamped barrel 15”, originally with top spring bayonet, with nipple drum conversion and with traces of maker’s name and address; the signed flat lock originally with safety bolt, now removed; the walnut fullstock with brass mounts including engraved trigger guard with pineapple finial and oval escutcheon with crest. WO & basically GC (bayonet and lug missing, lock and barrel worn and moderately pitted, fore end split)
A mid 18th century partly silver mounted 16 bore flintlock fowling piece, by Clarkson of London, 51½” overall, round barrel 36” with London proofs and maker’s mark “RE”, breech engraved with long teardrop panel, muzzle with silver teardrop foresight; plain slightly rounded lock with raised edge, raised pan and swan neck cock, plate signed “Clarkson”; slender walnut fullstock, scroll carving around the breech tang, flower engraved steel trigger guard with acanthus finial, butt plate tang with trophy of arms, and openwork silver sideplate with acanthus leaves, shell and animal head, and silver escutcheon engraved with crest of double headed eagle over coronet and motto “Festina Lente”; with its original wooden ramrod and iron worm. GWO & C (light pitting to lock). The sideplate and breech of this gun is illustrated in “Great British Gunmakers, 1740-1790” by Neal and Back, plate 525. Plate 14

CONDITION REPORT: Chester spoon: evidence of repair between stem and bowl and between stem and finial.
