K. 96Privatbesitz, BurgenlandDer umtriebige deutsche Künstler Martin Kippenberger wird am Ende seines Lebens in Jennersdorf im Burgenland sesshaft. Diese letzte Schaffensphase kurz vor seinem Tod im März 1997 erweist sich als äußerst produktiv: 1996 entstehen Kippenbergers bedeutende Bilderzyklen "Das Floß der Medusa" und "Jacqueline: The Paintings Pablo Couldn't Paint Anymore".In Jennersdorf heiratet der Künstler seine Lebensgefährtin, die Wiener Fotografin Elfie Semotan. Die Arbeit "Nix Nouvelle Cuisine" zeigt das Paar in einem Speiselokal. Den Arm um die Schulter seiner Frau gelegt, hinterlässt Kippenberger auf dem Tischtuch seine Signatur. Die Szene hat autobiographischen Charakter: "Es war am zweiten Weihnachtsabend, dass er sich im Raffel zeichnete, an Elfies Schulter gelehnt", berichtet Susanne Kippenberger in ihrer Biografie über den älteren Bruder. (Susanne Kippenberger, in: Kippenberger. Der Künstler und seine Familien. Berlin 2007, S. 525) Im Hotel Raffel trifft sich die Jennersdofer Szene. Oftmals abends, manches Mal früh am Morgen, jedenfalls täglich zu Mittag findet sich Kippenberger am Stammtisch ein, isst und redet. Gesellschaftliches Leben, Austausch, Kommunikation bildeten die Eckpfeiler Kippenbergers Kunst. An jedem seiner Aufenthaltsorte suchte er sich sein Stammlokal, das ihm gleichzeitig als Wohnzimmer, Atelier, Büro, Ausstellungsort und Bühne diente. Arbeit und Privatleben waren für ihn stets untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Hinzu kam ein ausgeprägtes Bedürfnis, immer und überall Spuren zu hinterlassen, alles und jeden zu kommentieren - mittels Bild und Sprache - wie hier beispielhaft vorgeführt wird.(Isabell Kneidinger)
