An Albanian 16 bore miquelet flintlock gun, 65½” overall, barrel 51½” with sighted octagonal breech, the rather crude plain lock probably a contemporary replacement, fullstocked with 6 broad brass barrel bands, the fore end covered for three quarters of its length with thin punch decorated brass sheet, the butt with carved decoration and partly covered with sheet brass engraved with star and crescent, naive bird and “H: K186 K”, with 2 sling loops and no provision for trigger guard. It fastens with a v snap and box safety clasp, and has a figure of eight safety catch. The secondary bracelet fastens with a bolt ring catch, and is attached to the main bracelet by loops. A Pearl Necklace, sixty-nine pearls knotted to a lozenge shaped clasp, with three old cut diamonds in spaced frames, with rose cut diamond details inset, length 42cm NB the pearls have not been tested The necklace is in good condition. It may be advisable to have the pearls re-strung. The clasp is a tongue and box catch. It bears no hallmark, is numbered `1573` and in our opinion would test as platinum. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; caratweight 0.55 carat, colour I/J/K, clarity I1/I2. The pearls measure from 3.5mm to 7.6mm. They are slightly oval in shape. They are ivory in colour, with some pink tones. Gross weight 15.2 grams. CR made 9th January 2013
