Hans Rossbach complete collection of 80 Luftwaffe commemorative covers. We have just acquired a complete set of the Hans Rossbach Luftwaffe aces collection. It is the first complete set I have seen in over five years and is exceptionally rare. This is quite an incredible set of covers with over 270 signature of top Luftwaffe VIP's. It would be a great shame to break up these wonderful collectors' items so we would like to sell it complete. It took Hans over three years to assemble back in the 1970's. He personally visited all aces including great names like Willy Messerschmitt, Werner Von Braun, Herman Oberth, Albert Speer, Erich Hartmann, Adolf Galland, Gerd Barkhorn plus many more. There is even a cover signed by five members of Richthofen's original flying circus. Many of the individual covers are now worth well over £200 with the Von Braun and Messerschmitt now worth £1500. Other rare signatures include Rudel Batz, Hanna Reich, Hans Baur (Hitlers pilot), Matoni, Skorzaney, Kurt Tank. Svetlana K-Lié (Russian, born 1977)A bronze sculpture of a Samurai bronze and clay height: 46cm (18 1/8in).Footnotes:A recipient of multiple awards, Svetlana K-Lié graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts (MA, Moscow, 2000) and continued with additional art studies at the I.I. Nevinsky Etching Art Studio in Moscow (1999-2003) and The Moscow Babushkinski Ceramic Studio (2004). She graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2007 (MA Drawing).Svetlana's work has been exhibited in the leading museums of Moscow and St. Petersburg and the Saatchi Gallery in London. Svetlana K-Lié (Russian, born 1977)'Secret Supper' from the series Last Supper or Twelve Chairs signed in Latin, titled and dated '2019' (lower centre)screen print, 3/2079 x 79cm (31 1/8 x 31 1/8in).Footnotes:In accordance with the irrevocable postmodernist gesture, K-Lié's Last Supper revisits Leonardo da Vinci's work of the same name. In comparison of the series with its iconic predecessor, the absence of the traditional emblems - the figures of Jesus Christ and the apostles, the images of bread and wine - is notable. Instead, K-Lié expresses an interest in imagery (symbols, icons, motifs) that in Da Vinci's painting are assigned the status of props: table, chairs, tablecloth or fruits. Whilst deconstructing the famous artefact of the Western canon, K-Lié's works establish a critical look at the unspoken hierarchy of figures and details caused by the 'natural' laws of perspective. Da Vinci's Last Supper is not only the most famous depiction of the given biblical scene, but an icon for the legacy of the Renaissance: perspectivism in painting. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
Imperial German Other Ranks Pickelhaube, a good time capsule helmet which is a typical battlefield find. The leather bodied helmet is complete with the brass front trim, rear spine and chinstrap side fittings. The brass spike base with domed rivets and short pattern other ranks spike have been mounted onto the circular metal base which is normally found on the inside crown, this is something that seems to have been quite a common tendency to be done. Helmet has brass eyelets to the centre for the fitting of a helmet plate, this is now absent and has been so for a long time as no outline or impression seems to have been made to the front. Interior retains its original leather liner and the back peak is impressed with “11 J R 1899” to one side and “1 B” to the other. Rear peak is also stamped with date 1912 and “1.K I”. The leather shell has misshapen through age and the rear peak has a small area of damage and stitching fault.

NO RESERVE Australia.- Walpole (Joseph K. ) Recollections and historical notices of Cambridge; preceded by a brief outline of schools and universities, and the fortunes of literature and science from the earliest ages, first edition, title in red and black, errata slip tipped-in at end, occasional spotting, lightly browned, original cloth, scuffed printed paper label to spine, spine ends chipped, corners worn, little stained, rubbed, [Fergusson 4681], 12mo, Sydney, Kemp and Fairfax, 1847.⁂ The author, who had attended St. John's and Trinity Colleges, was chaplain of the prisons of Sydney. He was a disciple of William Whewell and promoted his philosophy of education in Australia. 'Old reminiscences having found vent from time to time in various scraps of verse and prose, intended merely for amusement, these at length, grew into the more extensive views of the present book; which would suggest the propriety, nay the necessity, of a public Institution for promoting superior education in New South Wales.'.
