Circlet inscribed "Dollar Institution Cadet Corps" surmounted by scroll "7. V.B. A & S. H"; Dollar Arms to centre. Two loops to reverse. WW1 Battle of Jutland HMS Queen Mary Casualty Group of Medals. Awarded to "K.4318 A.H. GOWER STO 1 RN". Comprising: 1914/15 Star, "STO 1 RN", British War Medal, Victory Medal "STO 1 RN". Medals loose. Stoker 1st Class Archie Herbert Gower was killed on the 31st May 1916 when his ship the Battle Cruiser HMS Queen Mary blew up at the Battle of Jutland after being hit by shells.
A French pink breccia marble and ormolu mounted clock garniture in Louis XVI style, the eight day brass drum movement, with an outside countwheel, stamped 'H & K, PARIS 1996' and '83', with a white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, the case decorated with Mercury style cherubs, with a laurel wreath and war trophies, with a pair of matching twin-light candelabra and a pair of associated candlesticks, late 19th century, 45.5cm high. Original vintage propaganda poster featuring an image of Jesus pouring moonshine to peasants sitting and falling around a table laden with food and drink. Russian text, N19, 1929. Most likely printed in America in the 1930s as it includes an English translation: "A modern variation of the subject of drunkenness in Galilee. The very first and wickedest moonshine is named Jesus Christ. Proletarians of the world unite! The atheist at his 'bench' Anti-Alcohol issue (Moscow)." Good condition, fold, tears on the fold. . A late 19th century devotional, containing a painted porcelain plaque, of domed rectangular form, depicting the Madonna della Sedia after Raphael, bears paper label verso for Susse Freres Btes, Paris, handwritten 'de la sedia', and impressed marks '335 M', 11 by 7cm, the brass strut frame with two arched hinged doors, pierced and engraved with scrolling trellis work, removable back, marked MV with a hammer and 'K', 12 by 18cm.
