No 16897 Pte F C Mear of the 7th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry was Killed in Action on the 9th June 1916. The son of Charles and Sarah Mear of Combe St Nicholas nr Chard, Husband of Mrs K Mear of Combe Wood, C St Nicholas nr Chard, aged 35 years. Buried in Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery.

AN OFFICERS ABYSSINIAN WAR MEDAL. Named in raised letters on the reverse, to Ensign D W K Barr H M 33rd Regt. Purchased from Spinks June 1980. Interestingly the naming is off centre, possibly due to the disc turning when struck. Ensign Barr was on the strength of the 33rd Regt attached from the Staff Corps India, confirmed by the roll. David William Keith Barr was born 29th November 1846, the son of Lt General Henry James Barr, Bombay Staff Corps. Commissioned Ensign on the 20th Sept 1864, Lt 22 july 1868, after his return to India from the Abyssinian War. He was promoted to Captain in 1876, twelve years to the day from becoming an Ensign. From 1881 until 1887 He was Political Agent and Superintendent Rewah, promoted Major 20th September 1884. In 1888 He became Resident at Gwalior whence he remained until 1892. Promoted to Lt Col 20th September 1890, whilst at this post. He then served in Kashmir for two years. From 1894-1900 he served in Central India as the Governor Generals Agent. From 1900-1905 He was Resident at Hyderabad and was made a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the Star of India. Dating from the 26th June 1902. In 1905 He became a member of the Viceroys Council of India.
A 19th century yellow coloured metal, seed pearl and cabochon garnet ring Condition report Report by NG Approx. total weight 3.3 g (all in) Ring size approx. K Reverse inscribed June 18th 1927. The centre stone is pink in colour and internal fractures are visible. Pearl skins in reasonable condition. Ring in need of a clean.

An 18ct gold, diamond and emerald set three stone ring, London probably 1901, a 15 ct gold and half pearl set ring, Birmingham 1922, a gold, cat's eye and colourless gem set three stone ring, detailed 14 K, a 9ct gold, sapphire and colourless gem set cluster ring and a gold and colourless gem set eternity ring, detailed 9 CT.
A gentleman's gold cased, keyless wind, hunting cased pocket watch, the gilt jeweled lever movement detailed H.Samuel, Market Street, Manchester, No 70317, gilt metal inner case, the enameled dial with black Roman hour numerals and with outer Arabic numerals to 300, the dial detailed 70317, with centre stop seconds, the case back and front detailed 14 K.

This 1st UK mono pressing (Track 612 001) contains the original white inner (VG) which states "Made in England 057" and "British Patent No 800513 & 973939". The record is in VG condition with light surface marks on both sides and spindle wear, but no deeper scratches. The sleeve is in VG+ condition with some light wear to the lamination. Also to include The Cry Of Love (2408 101), Sound Track Recordings From The Film Jimi Hendrix (K 64017), Isle Of Wight (2302 016) and Birth Of Success (MFP 50053). Condition is generally VG+ to Ex.
