Final issue point by Eckel not present - 'Captain' rather than 'Capitan' as the final word on page 324, as per first state. Bound in smart full straight grain morocco binding with gilt tooling to the spine and spine labels, gilt edges, borders and dentelles; slight loss to corner of title label to spine, and hinge starting lightly to rear board. 8vo.

Browne] (as called for), octavo. Condition Report : Slightly rubbed; lower joint partially split; lower hinge cleanly split open; plates with marginal toning; a few plates with lower fore-edge marginal staining; plate opposite p.448 with 5cm lower edge tear, without loss. Iron Duke, and notes concerning Leading Stoker Edgar James WellsExtracts from notes include:'... from 23March 1917 until 3rd October 1919 he served on board the Iron Duke class battleship HMS Emperor of India; a 25,000 tons sister to Iron Duke on which he also served from 9th September 1925 to 19th February 1926. ...she was in dock for the Battle of Jutland and did not take part....Her most interesting period of active service occured in the period that Edgar Wells was on board. The ship was sent to the Med Fleet in 1919 and took part in Black Sea operations to support the White against the Red Bolsheviks. Wells would have been on board when she used her ig 13.5inch guns to bombard Bolshevik troops and disrupt supplies outside of Theodosia.
