Blaser An exceptional .375 H&H Mod SR850/88 take down bolt action sporting rifle, no. 2/14565, with additional .300 Win Mag barrel, no. 2/12381, a two barrel set each 25 1/2-inch barrel with raised amd engraved fore and rear sights, the breech ends lined in gold, the bolt and receiver profusely engraved with thorns against a stippled ground, the action sides engraved on the left with lions and buffalo in a safari setting, the right side with wild boar and deer in a woodland landscape, the base with a Leopard and signed by the engraver Schmidt, mounted with its Zeiss Diavari-Z3-12x56 on a quic "k detachable mount, highly figured stock and fore-end, the chequered panels each surrounded by carved thorn detail, 14 1/2-inch pull, German nitro proof, in its makers case 8lb. 14oz. The rifle is finished to an exceptional standard and appears to be almost unused.

Purdey & Sons A pair of 12-bore single trigger self opening sidelock ejector guns, nos. 18799/18800 29-inch Whitworth steel chopper-lump barrarrp barrrrrrels with 2 1/2 -inch chambers, about 1/4 and 3/4 choke borings, the frames, locks and gold numbered top-levers with fine bouquet and scroll engraving and retaining some original hardening colour, Boss Patent single triggers, rolled edge trigger guards and engraved cocking indicators, 14 3/4 -inch highly figured replacement stocks, No.2 with slight crack to the head, nitro proof, barrel wall thickness marginal, in their brass bounds oak "and leather case 6lb. 13oz. James Purdey & sons kindly confirm that the guns were completed in September 1906 as the No.1 and 2 of a trio with 29-inch barrels. The guns are fitted with the Boss patent single trigger mechanism, No. 11278 of 1905 and this appears to have been fitted later. It was not uncommon for Boss & Co., whose speciality was single triggers, to fit their mechanism to guns of other makes. K

The makers confirm that the gun was built in 1867 as the No.2 gun of a pair. The gun incorperates Purdey's second patern thumblever, patent No. 1104 of 1863. K

A French small-sword with silver-gilt hilt,Paris silver marks for 1809-19, maker's mark of Antoine Balzarini with German hollow-triangular blade etched and gilt with foliage and trophies on a blued panel at the base and signed 'S & K' for Schnitzler and Kirschbaum of Solingen, silver-gilt hilt, including ovoid dish-guard engraved with garlands, festoons, and punched border ornament on the outer face, the inner face studded with faceted gold and silver beads arranged as expanded flowerheads within gilt roped frames and on a finely punched matted ground, knuckle-guard, ovoid pommel and swelling grip all decorated en suite with the inner face of the guard, in a contemporary fishskin-covered wooden scabbard with silver-gilt mounts engraved en suite with the guard (chape missing); and a Continental small-sword, mid-18th Century, with colichemarde blade, brass hilt cast with rococo ornament in low relief, and original grip bound with plaited silver wire and ribband the first: 78cm; 30.75in blade (2)
