A silver mustard-pot and a caster, Louvain, maker's mark Johannes Josephus Cool, dated (17)75--H 20,5 - 20,3 cmÊ Weight: 615 g (without the containers) Ê Ê A very similar pair (dated 1778) is part of the collection of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (inv. nr. G 1979 a-b) and was included in L. De Ren, B. Dewilde, W. Nys, W. Van Dievoet and K. Goubert, Zilver. Kunst. Object. Verhalen uit Leuven, M-Museum, Leuven, 2015, p. 160, cat. nr. 167. A similar baluster shaped pair with doomed foot (but Brussels and 1757) was sold at Christie's London, Sale 12023, Lot 130 (link). The fact that the caster has a handle does however raise some question marks (more than likely a later addition?). Ê Ê -- Please request condition reports by e-mail on info@coronariauctions.com.
