A late Victorian sapphire and diamond seven stone carved head ring, a circular mixed cut sapphire and two oval Swiss cut sapphires, claw set to a carved head, with pairs of rose cut diamond set points. Plain shank hand engraved to the inside with two sets of initials and the date 1902. Marked 18ct CONDITION REPORT: Finger size K½. Head 14.7mm long, 5mm wide. Minor nibbles to the girdle of one sapphire at the shoulder, an indented natural to the other.

Dial signed 'R L Christie, Edinburgh', probably the original retailer. Case back machine engraved 'M K Robertson SAXG 150-3'. Case no. 90233 2784. Inside case marked R.W.C.Ltd Oyster Watch Co. Strap deficient CONDITION REPORT: The case has been opened and will require resealing prior to being worn. Screw down crown will not unscrew. Assume the watch is not in working condition. 30mm diameter, excluding the crown.

Applied white kite shoulders, each grain set with two eight cut diamonds, all mounted to the top of a flat section, tapering shank, with Florentine finish decoration. Marked 18ct. A petal surround set with old eight cut diamonds to a plain shank. Marked 18ct. Diamond assessed as approximately: Colour: K/L Clarity: P1-P2 CONDITION REPORT: Ring size: M. Diamond probably early 20th century. The mount was probably made circa 1950-1960. The diamond is bright and lively. Setting secure. Some wear to two of the wires on the basket, where it has been worn next to another ring. One does not require attention, the other would benefit from being built up.
A diamond set line bracelet, late 20th century, with brilliant cut diamonds, four claw set in square collets, with an estimated total diamond weight of approximately 3.50ct. Marked 14K CONDITION REPORT: P2/P3 clarity range. K/L/M colour range. Probably American. Setting and clasp appear secure. An area of yellow at the centre of the figure of eight clasp suggest the bracelet may either be yellow gold and later rhodium plated or an off-white/white gold.

He served in the Indian rebellion, the Expedition to Abyssinia and the Second Anglo-Afghan War before leading British Forces to success in the Second Boer War. Photo Note: The writer of the letter was John Charles (1783-1853), printer and pioneer of the movement of cheap and good literature for the million.
