Kathleen M. Pearson (1898-1961), Oil on artists board, Study of a horse and grooms man in a stable, Signed K. M. Pearson 1951, 35.5cm x 45.5cm,Provenance: Entered by the artists family. Kathleen Pearson studied at the Slade School in the early 1920's and then at the Royal Academy Schools, 1921 - 6. She also exhibited at the Royal Academy. It is believe that these images date from her time at The Slade School CONDITION REPORT: Lightly worn at edge, lightly grubby, label verso faded.

K. Glen, (20th/21st century), "City of Baroda", signed lower right hand corner, watercolour 34 x 43 cm, grey frame. The Baroda was a cargo merchant steamer built in 1918 and owned by Hall Line Ltd, managed by Ellerman Lines Ltd. On the 2nd April 1943 when on route from London to Calcutta via Trinidad she was torpedoed by U-509 and sunk with only the loss of 8 souls from a a total of 331.
K. Glen, (20th/21st century), "Orama", signed lower right hand corner, watercolour 34 x 43 cm (partially covered by the mount), grey frame. Owned by the Orient Steam Navigation Co. and built in 1924 by Vickers as an ocean liner, she was requisitioned as an auxiliary troop transport for the British Expeditionary Force to Norway in the spring of 1940. On 8th June 1940, in a convoy with the aircraft carrier HMS Glourious, and four other vessels they were some 300 miles West of Narvik, when the German battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau and the heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper, escorted by lighter craft, were sweeping this area and completely overwhelmed the British, sinking all five ships. The ORAMA was sunk by gunfire and torpedo from the Hipper. Nineteen men were killed and 280 became prisoners.
