Original vintage Soviet propaganda poster - In the Name of Peace and Progress For the Glory of Our Motherland! - featuring a great design depicting a Lunokhod / Moonwalker rover on the moon with its helical antenna sending a signal to a red star on earth with curved lines as satellite communication against the dark space background, a yellow hammer and sickle symbol on the side of the red vehicle and the slogan in bold lettering below. During the Cold War era Space Race (1955-1975), the Soviet Union designed a series of Lunokhod robotic lunar rovers to land on the moon for exploration and research to support their manned Moon Race missions after NASA's successful Apollo landings; the rovers were launched by Proton-K rockets and transported by Luna spacecraft; the programme started with the Lunokhod 1A remote-controlled robot that was destroyed during its launch in 1969 and ended before the Lunokhod 3's planned launch in 1977 when the programme was cancelled; Lunokhod 1 (launched 1970) and Lunokhod 2 (launched 1973) were both successful missions and the last vehicles to be placed on an extraterrestrial body until the Mars Pathfinder in 1997. Good condition, staining, minor creasing.; 2. NSZZ and Solidarnosc Trade Union Group for Polish National Review held by the Student Theater of Workers in Gdansk 1980. Size(cm): 61x42. Acceptable condition, staining, paper losses, tears, folds, paper snipes attached to surface.; 3. 1970 December - Stylised lettering using a crucifix as the number seven. Poster to mark the anniversary of the Tragedy of December 1970. The Polish 1970 Strikes which were shut down by the Polish People's Army and the Citizen's Militia, at least 42 people were killed and more than 1,000 wounded. Size(cm): 52x42. Design by K. Janaska. Zomo are a Force of Oppression / Milicjanci! - Zomo To Sily Represji - The ZOMO were paramilitary-police formations during the communist era in Poland. These elite units of Citizens' Militia were created to fight crime and provide security during mass events however, they became known instead for their brutal and sometimes lethal actions of riot control and their role in quelling civil rights protests.
