A gentleman's 18 ct yellow gold pocket watch, Omega De Ville, open faced with brushed silver coloured dial, baton markers and seconds hand, 17 jewel movement, Reference 28796160, stamped "18 k"", 750 import mark (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The gross weight is 35 grams. The condition of the watch is generally extremely good. There are no issues with the case other than very minor scratches. The dial is in good order. The hands change as they should. The watch is ticking away nicely. Case diameter 46 mm. The watch winds smoothly.

A K Brand (British, 19th Century) HMS Langland of Swansea, Captain John George, 1882 signed lower left "A K Brand '85" oil on canvas 53 x 83cm (21 x 32in) Unlined canvas, good tension. Raised and flaking paint along upper edge. A few small, scattered losses elsewhere but paint is mainly stable. Small areas of retouching. Varnish is slightly yellowed but even and glossy. Frame is in good condition.

The canvas is stamped: J. Middleton, 81 St. Martin~s Lane. John Middleton was a major supplier of canvases etc. to Lawrence from at least 1790. Lawrence owed the substantial sum of £400 to Middleton in 1801 (Farington Diary). The sitter~s son, Blayney Townley Balfour was painted (unfinished) by Lawrence c.1810. (Catalogue of Paintings by K.
