A French infantry officer’s sword, c 1850, curved fullered blade 29½”, with maker’s initials S & K (? unclear) in semi circle at forte, etched with small trophy of arms and instruments, with flourishes above and below, on both sides, and retaining a little original blueing and gilding, ornamental brass hilt, the guard with reinforced edges, knucklebow and single sidebar, into slightly forward sloping cap shaped pommel with laurel wreath border, wirebound darkwood grip (slightly AF), in its brass mounted leather (worn, seam split) scabbard with 2 rings.
