Measures 28cm x 18cms. Duleep Singhs army was defeated by the British in the First Anglo Sikh War of 1846 and he is shown here submitting to the Governor General of the British India Lord Hardinge.

India rare Book on Shaheed Bhagat Singh A scarce book titled Bhagat Singh and his Comrades^ by one his colleagues Ajoy Kumar Ghosh^ who was Bhagat Singhs comrade-in-arms and fellow accused in the Lahore Conspiracy Case 1st edition^ 1945^ 35pp^ with a 1946 presentation inscription on title page^ soft covers. Ajoy first met Bhagat Singh in Lahore in 1923 introduced by B K Dutt^ both were 15 year olds^ and became comrades in the Ghadar Party. In 1929 after the infamous Assembly Bomb^ Bhagat Singh and Dutt was arrested on the spot and Ajoy and his companions some days later after the accidental discovery of their bomb factory. Ajoy and his 12 companions where produced in court and here he met Bhagat Singh again^ and remarked No longer was he the Bhagat Singh of the magnificent physique whose strength had been a byword in our party. A shadow of his former self^ weak and emancipated^ he was carried into the court on a stretcher. Ajoy joined Bhagats hunger strike^ but on the farcical trial Bhagat Singh^ Rajguru and Sukhdev were sentenced to death by hanging^ while 7 of the men transported for life^ the others including Ajoy were acquitted due to lack of evidence. Amazing first hand and detailed account of Bhagat Singh last years from a man who had been part of his revolutionary party. Bhagat Singh (1907-31^) a Sikh Ja born in the Punjab^ was an Indian socialist considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. His legacy prompted youth in India to begin fighting for Indian independence and he continues to be a youth idol in modern India
