World War I, Casualty Medal Trio, to the 1st King Edward’s Horse; 1914-15 Star, War and Victory Medals (1084 Pte. A. D. Pile, K. Edw. H). Extremely fine. (3) Arthur Douglas Pile died on the 21st August, 1917 and is buried in the Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery Extension at Ieper, West-Vlaanderen, in Belgium. King Edward’s Horse was a cavalry regiment of the special reserve and was raised in Chelsea in August 1914.
A large late 20th Century Limited edition clear crystal vase by Thomas Webb titled ‘The Pavane vase’, the wide circular foot rising to a shallow ball knopped stem below the tall ovoid form body, the reverse cut with a quilted ground design of tesellated diamonds leaving a large central cartouche hand engraved and polished intaglio cut with a peacock seated to a blossom bough signed and dated to the lower edge K. Andrews 1986, height 13’, complete with framed certificate numbered 5 of 50.
