Eleven-keyed boxwood oboe by Carl Gottlob Borman, Dresden, circa 1820, ivory mounts, onion and cotton reel finial, the nickel-silver keys with bevelled octagonal covers on saddle mounts, the octave key with knurled metal seating, twinned G holes; stamped Borman, Dresden with the device of two stars on each joint, the bell joint stamp surmounted by a crown, this joint also stamped K. S. R., length 21 5/8", 55cm.

An early 19th century German silver fish slice by Georg Christian Friedrich Tem(m)ler, Augsburg 1807, the blade pierced and engraved with foliage and oval reserve within a scroll foliate border, the handle half turned ebony, 39cm (15 3/8in) long; and a punch ladle, maker’s mark ‘. K’, the rest indecipherable, probably German, the handle half turned ebony, 37cm (14 1/2in) long. See Selling no. 293, for the first maker’s mark.
