Greek Book of Hours.- Horologion, 716 (Greek numerals), [20] pp., printed in red and black, title with vignette depicting Virgin and Child, woodcut initials and tail-pieces, 8 full-page woodcuts and numerous vignettes in text, occasional light browning, a few manuscript notes on recto of front flyleaf, 20th-century brown morocco, covers within blind fillets and richly tooled border, central gilt vignette of cross (upper) and Virgin praying (lower), metal clasps intact, spine with two raised bands, compartments decorated with small gilt floral device, g.e., 8vo (125 x 83mm.), Venice, Andrea Giuliani, 1676.⁂ One of the rarest Greek liturgical editions printed in Venice in the 17th century. Responsible for this fine illustrated book, intended for the Greek community, was Andrea Giuliani, heir of Francesco, and active in Venice between 1656 and 1690. "Towards the end of the sixteenth century, from 1590, we hear of an extremely productive Venetian publishing house belonging to the Giuliani family, which concentrated on Greek liturgical books [...] this firm established itself firmly as a publisher of Greek books and maintained the tradition until the early decades of the eighteenth century" (K. Sp. Staikos, Greek Philosophical Editions in the First Century of Printing, Athens 2001, p. 87).Provenance: ownership inscription dated '1694' on title, barely legible.

A fine exhibition quality and detailed model of a steam launch Henry , built by the late Mr Peter Arnott of Cheltenham and fitted with vertical live steam boiler and Stuart Turner D10 steam engine set on checker-plate. The boat hull is of clinker construction, nailed, roved and built over formers as in the full size building practise. Woods used were ramin, pine and mahogany. The boat is powered by a Stuart Turner double 10 vertical live steam engine with disc flywheel, fitted reversing gear, cylinder drain cocks, displacement lubricator and steam regulator. The vertical boiler built to the design by the late Mr K N Harris with 63 x 8mm diameter copper tubes and is fitted with an engine driven and hand operated water feed pumps, safety valve, water sight glass and pressure gauge. Fitted radio control servo s. Radio control set and assories. Comes together with some build and operating notes. Length 138cm. Width 50cm. Height 45cm. Boiler History: Boiler serial number 4584. Hydraulic Test Certificate No SC 250205 expires the 31st day of May 2018. Gas Tank test valid until 31st of May 2018. Steam test certificate No C 179834 Expires on the 10th of October 2018. Working pressure 60 psi. An exhibition standard Model Triple Expansion Reversing Condensing Marine engine, built by Mr K W Williams of Doncaster to the O B Bolton design as uprated by J P Bertinat, with cylinders ⅞th. 1 ¼ & 1 ¾ inch bores by 1 ¼ inch stroke, cylinder head pressure relief valves, drain cocks and pipes, IP valve spindle tail shaft guide, main steam inlet valve, hand wheel and worm gear operated Stephenson's link reverse, frame incorporated slipper-type crosshead guides, LP crosshead driven air pump, six main bearings with oilers, disc drive wheel, rear frame mounted condenser and pipework, cast sole plate, pressure display board with four mounted gauges. The model is finished in red paintwork with polished brightwork and having ladder with gantry on check-plate floor. Glazed display cover. Model Length 38cm. Height 28cm. * This model was exhibited at the Midland Model Engineering Exhibition 1991
A well-engineered model of a 'Lady Stephanie' six column live steam Beam Engine, built by Mr K W Williams of Doncaster to the design by Tubal Cain with single cylinder having outside steam chest and steam inlet control. The beam supported on six reeded vertical columns with motion and speed governor set within. Six spoked flywheel set to side with eccentric driven steam valve linkage from crank. The model finished in red and green paintwork with polished brightwork and set on plinth with decorative brickwork floor and comes within a glazed display case. Model length 30cm. Height 18cm. * The model was completed in 1988 and exhibited at the Midland Model Engineering Exhibition 1991
