Motorised Troops Shoulder Board and Tunic Collar Patches, a fine unused set of enlisted ranks tunic collar patches, the white, black and grey litzen stitched upon a high quality base cloth of black with red piping, accompanied by a late war all black herringbone twill shoulder board with a finely embroidered letter ‘K’ with attached old label in French identifying the board as for motorised troops. 3x M.15 Piped Shoulder Boards, consisting of Prussian Guard Grenadier Regiment No.2, single board, beautifully laid on motifs, red piped, stitch-on style. Prussian Fusilier Regiment No.86, white wool piping on field grey cloth, stitch-on style. Prussian Infantry Regiment No.63, chain stitched letter ‘K’ with applied crowns, white wool piped on field grey backing cloth with attached retailer’s label with pencil written ‘I.R.63 VI AK’ (6th Army Corps). Prussian Train Battalion Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube, first of a pair. A beautiful virtually mint unworn condition upper medium size 57 enlisted ranks pickelhaube for a member of Train Battalion No.8. This helmet was one of a pair of helmets souvenired by an American engineer officer in WWI, the pair are heavily featured on pages 60 and 61 of Feldzug 14. We are offering these helmets separately, this first example, as described, in beautiful condition, slight distortion to the rear peak, all of the fittings in brass, untouched national and state cockades and chinstrap. The interior leather liner all complete and profusely marked on the back peak ‘2.K.’ within a rectangle, followed by ‘T.B.8’ (Train Battalion 8) with clear date ‘1913’ followed by an army corp marking of ‘B.A.VIII’ (army corp 8 1913).
Prussian Train Battalion Enlisted Mans Pickelhaube, second of the pair. This is the second helmet as shown on pages 60 and 61 of Feldzug 14 of a pair of helmets souvenired by an American engineer officer in WWI. Absolutely superb example, huge size, marked size ‘58’, all matching brass fittings, untouched chinstrap and national and state cockades. The inner leather liner all complete with its original drawstring. Marked more profusely than the previous helmet offered with ‘4E’ to the interior front peak, ‘1913’ dated to the upper inner skull, the rear back peak marked ‘II’ followed by ‘4.K.’ within a rectangle, a further large ‘1913’ date, to the opposite peak marked ‘T.B.A.’ (Train Battalion 8) with further army corp smaller marking on ‘B.A.VIII’ (army corp 8 1913).
A collection of WW1 medals and ephemera awarded to Holt PTE, William Vernon 201067 of the 2nd/5th Lancashire Fusiliers and the 164th Trench motor bay. Included is a 1914-1915 Star medal, a British war medal and a victory medal. Also included is a death plaque with George J condolence, a signed death certificate and a rememberance certificate from their local church. Also included are 17 silk cards from the deceased to his wife and a collection of postcards alongside a war grave list of names E to K of the British empire.
An emerald and diamond cluster ring, the principal brilliant cut stone surrounded by borders of calibre-cut emeralds and brilliant cut diamonds, the total diamond weight estimated at 0.80 carat CONDITION REPORT: The ring is in good condition. It is size J and weighs 6.7g. The shank is unmarked but in my opinion woudl test as platinum. The diamonds are quite radiant and the ring presents well to the naked eye. The emeralds have some small surface abrasions and chips which are only visible under magnification. The principal stone is of approximately VS1/VS2 clarity. The diamonds in the border are of approximately VS2/SI1 clarity. All of the diamonds are approximately J/K in colour.
TWO CHINESE FAMILLE VERTE 'PHOENIX' KENDI KANGXI 1662-1722 Each with a quatrefoil body and a tall neck decorated with panels of flower sprays and floral and geometric patterns, the spouts formed as phoenix heads, 20cm. (2) Provenance: from the collection R W M Walker Esq., then purchased Sotheby's London, 12th July 1945, lot 75 by D J K Wright for £150, and later the collection of Mr Arthur Crick (1890-1956). Cf. C J A Jörg, Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, p.162, no.177 for a similar pair of kendi.

A silver finger ring comprising a slender twisted hoop, square plaque with central cell and radiating granules, inset glass(?) cloison with incised star and crescent moon symbols. 1.45 grams, 20.37mm overall, 18.40 x 15.83mm internal diameter (approximate size British K, USA 5 1/4, Europe 9.95, Japan 9) (3/4"). Ex Stratford collection, Suffolk, UK; acquired on the UK art market after 2000. [No Reserve] Fine condition.

A bronze diploma fragment with text in capitals to both faces; side A [...]OSIERISQUE EORUM / [...]CONUBIUM CUM UXO / [...]ABUSISSUNT CUM [ES?]T CIVI / [...]CAELIBES ESSENT CUM / [...]UXISSENT DUM TAXAISIN / [...]D X K MARI; side B [...]AGATHODI / [...] IUSTI. 39.44 grams, 84mm (3 3/4"). Property of a European gentleman; formerly acquired on the German art market before 1980. A military diploma is a bronze tablet recording the privileges accorded to Roman soldiers. They were first issued under Claudius to individual auxiliaries and sailors. The diplomas granted citizenship to individuals and their children, and marriage rights. This fragment refers to the marriage rights accorded by the diploma, indicated by conubium cum uxo[r] (marriage with a wife) and caelibes (unmarried men"). Fine condition.
