An 1870's Brussels Lace Fan, Point d'Angleterre, mounted on'' blonde tortoiseshell'' or resin sticks. The lace leaf, unbacked, features clusters of tiny flowers with needlelace centres, surrounded by leaves with the bobbin centres in relief. The net is fairly irregular. Guard length 9 inches or 24cm. Together with a substantial wooden fan box, lined inside with bright blue silk, gold letters embossed on the inside lid ''GEBR RODECK WEIN K K HOFLEIFERANTEN. Underneath is written in pen, From General Latour, Vienna, may 1874The lace is slightly dry, unwashed, slightly dark, and the net is broken in several places. The lower guard has a metal repair at the shoulder and eight of the ribs are broken. The box which fits the fan exactly, is in very good order.

Birmingham hallmarks (rubbed), 13 troy Oz. approx, 12.5 cm high the tallest piece. (3) Condition Report: Hallmarks are rubbed as is engraved initials. Small minor dings and dents but overall ok.
