Mid 18th century AD and later. A rectangular wooden icon with moulded frame, upper and lower rectangular panels and lateral twisted columns supporting an arch; running scrolls and rosette above the arch, cursive legend in the lower panel, painted figure of Madonna and Child to the centre with nimbate worshippers outlined with punched pellets. See Weizmann, K. et al. The Icon, New York, 1982. 1.8 kg, 42 x 29cm (16 1/2 x 11 1/2"). From a London collection; acquired from Zurich, Switzerland, in the 1980s. Fine condition.
2nd millennium BC. A broad leaf-shaped blade with rounded shoulders and short tang, raised midrib with deep fuller and curved ends extending to the shoulders. See Branigan, K. Aegean Metalwork of the Early and Middle Bronze Age, Oxford, 1974. 348 grams, 39.5cm (15 1/2"). Property of a North London gentleman; acquired on the UK art market before 2000. Fine condition.

A black onyx gem intaglio bust of Serapis with modius above the head, set into a later gold ring comprising a broad flat-section hoop with filigree detailing to the borders, impressed concentric circles, ribbed cup bezel with flange. 9.37 grams, 28mm overall,16.28 mm internal diameter (approximate size British K 1/2, USA 5 1/2, Europe 11.0, Japan 10) (1"). Vehicle set (front & rear) of London Transport DESTINATION BLINDS, coded 'K' for a Red Arrow MBA at Victoria (GM) garage. The front is dated 23.2.77 and the rear 15.7.77. Feature the blue displays traditionally used by LT for limited-stop services. Both are complete blinds and in very good, ex-use condition. [2]
1968 London Transport DESTINATION BLIND coded 'K' for a Red Arrow MBA at Walworth (WL) garage. Dated 17.9.68, that month saw the introduction of routes 501 & 505 so this is a very early blind. Features the blue displays used by LT for limited-stop services. Interestingly, has been mis-stamped 'RF Type Front' by Aldenham's Boards & Blinds Dept! In very good, ex-use condition. [1]
