Lot 860

Nameplate ROBERT. Ex 0-6-0 ST built Avonside Engine Co Bristol as works number 1600 of 1912. Delivered new to Garswood Coal and Iron Co. Ltd, who later became Garswood Hall Collieries Ltd. In January 1947 the locomotive passed into the ownership of the National Coal Board (NCB) and saw use at Lea Green and Cronton. Sold for scrap to J K Holt in 1965 and survided at the scrap yard until around 2006 when it was purchased for preservation. Rectangular cast brass, face restored measures 30in x 6.25in.

Frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT'. Coeval serial no. '144xxx' on barrel, frame, trigger guard. Grip-strap with partial serial no. coeval with the others. Brass trigger guard. Wooden handle. Frame, cylinder and back strap with 40% of the original bluing. length 36.5 cm.
