A Pair of Regency Cut Glass Salts, circa 1810, of panelled boat form on lemon squeezer bases, 10cm wide; A Baluster Coffee Cup, with wrythen fluted base; A Pair of Moulded Carafes; A Pair of Wine Glasses, with engraved bowls; A Drinking Vessel, in the form of a boot; and A Cut Glass Vase, of barrel form on circular foot (9). Boot flask with a chip to the heel and toe. Both salt sellers with chipping to both rims. All other components in good order.
A Wine Glass, circa 1750, the rounded funnel bowl on an air twist stem and circular foot, 16cm high; and A Similar Cordial Glass, the ogee bowl on an air twist stem and circular foot, 15.5cm high (2). The wine glass with light scratches inside the bowl, no chips or cracks. Cordial glass in good condition free from chips cracks, and any scratches.

Both engraved wine glasses with damage. The baluster shaped glass with chipping to the foot, the foot may have been reduced. The other engraved glass, the bowl re glued at the stem. The other two glasses (not engraved) in good condition.
A Bohemian Glass Flask, 18th century, of canted rectangular form, painted in enamels with a figure holding a drinking glass and with stylised flowers, 20cm high; A Pair of Green Glass Wine Glasses, 13cm high; A Lacemaker's Lamp, on a twist stem, 9cm high; A Glass Stirrup Cup, 11.5cm high; and A Soda Glass Beaker, 11cm high (6). The flask with a very old repair encircling the neck, and enamels generally in good condition. The lacemakers lamp with a large chip to the foot. All of other pieces in good order.
Australian Wine.- Burt (Sir Archibald, colonial judge, 1810-79) Autograph Letter signed to Andrew Bankhead of Swindell, Bankhead & Co., 6pp., 8vo, Perth, Western Australia, 24th June 1861, on his assumption of the position of civil commissioner and chairman of quarter sessions in Western Australia, "I have been occupied of late in law reforms which were indeed much needed. I found matters in a very primitive state. In fact my predecessor had been exercising all the fulminating powers of Lord Chancellors & Chief Justices under laws that conferred no greater powers than those exercised by a judge of courts of requests. I of course could not consent to follow in such track...", and on Australian wine, "I... have sent a long report to Mr Taylor of Madeira on the capabilities of this colony as a wine producing country to take the place of Madeira. Grapes grow here without culture and I am convinced that there cannot be a better wine country", folds, slightly browned.

A Victorian cased three piece silver gilt travelling communion set by Edward & John Barnard, London, 1854, with engraved initials, comprising chalice, paten and wine ewer, tallest piece, 11.3cm, gross 5.5oz.CONDITION: Overall condition is good, commensurate with age and some use. Hallmarks clear but with some rubbing to the maker's marks. Box a little scuffed in places and has a silver applique with engraved initials.
John Charlton (UK, 1849 - 1917) Oil on canvas painting titled "The Keys of the Wine Cellar". Depicting a man seated in a cellar holding a wine jug conversing with a young woman holding the keys to a wine cellar. A bird perched nearby with a cage in the distance. Monogrammed lower left. Housed in a carved frame. Charlton studied at the Newcastle School of Art and at South Kensington. Specializing mainly in portraits and sporting and military subjects, he was commissioned by Queen Victoria to paint her arrival at St. Paul's Cathedral for the Diamond Jubilee Service in 1899.
