There are chapters of recipes, on wine, vinegars and conserving flowers, fruits etc.; the many other subjects include medical cures (a substantial section), fireworks, perfume and cosmetics. Arthur Benomi Evans (1781-1854, "The Bold Arthur"), miscellaneous writer, poet, composer & musician, linguist, and collector of coins. He was appointed professor of classics and history to the Royal Military College in 1805..
