Opaque twist wine glass, attributed to Beilby, the round funnel bowl painted with fruiting vines in white enamel, on double series opaque twist stem with pair of multi-ply (eight approx) spiral thread bands enclosing four spiral threads, on conical foot, mid 18th Century, height 14.5cms. Barrington-Haynes, this twist is the fourth most encountered of the double series opaque twist stems and is seen with Beilby decoration which might argue a Newcastle provenance.
