A Chinese 'Hatcher Cargo' blue and white 'Dragon' wine cup, a similar miniature double gourd vase and one other: the first painted to the exterior with a scaly dragon chasing a flaming pearl, Transitional, mid 17th century, 4.5cm. high; the second painted with scrolling flowers and foliage either side of a diaper border, Transitional, mid 17th century, 6.5cm; and a miniature ovoid vase painted with a russet trellis design, two-character seal mark, 5cm [3].*Provenance. Christie's June 1984.*Notes The Hatcher Cargo, the first 'wreck cargo' to come onto the market, was retrieved in 1983 from the wreck of a Chinese junk, the Tek Sing, off Admiral Stellingwerf Reef near Indonesia in the South China seas. The Tek Sing sunk circa 1643-46.
