His first ever script (Episode 7, working title 'Newcomers' - later named 'From Here To Paternity' is present). A special collection of favourite photographs by Malcolm Howarth and Don Smith, from the worlds longest running comedy series Last Of The Summer Wine. This special album is a token of thanks for the 25 years of pleasure given to millions of viewers, but especially for the gift to Holmfirth - the new 'Summer Wine Exhibition'. For the love of its adopted son - Holmfirth is a better place '. Filled with over fifty large format 8x10" photographs charting the show from it's earliest series to the then present series. Black and white and colour images present. A high quality album with some seldom-seen images within. A unique piece of Last Of The Summer Wine memorabilia.

Hundreds of pieces within the album, comprising: newspaper clippings, photographs, lots of paperwork relating to Forget-Me-Not-Lane in which Owen starred alongside Davy Jones from The Monkees, various contracts - including Hunters Walk, Great Expectations, Smokey Joe's Revenge, Owen's contract for an episode of The Onedin Line and other items relating to his appearance in the programme, two handwritten letters from Bill Owen (Tom's Dad) wishing him luck and signed 'Dad,' letters relating to appearances in various TV shows, telegrams from well-wishers, theatre programmes, on-stage photographs from various productions, a signed letter from playwright Peter Nichols, many items from Owen's early stage work in the show 'Lulu', and many other items. All housed in a large format green album. All were originally laid-in but many have now come unstuck and are loose. A unique archive from Owen's acting career.

The first one covering the early 1990s, and largely relating to his associations with the Labour Party, including handwritten letters from Neil Kinnock, newspaper clippings relating to Owen at the time, press photographs, some Last Of The Summer Wine photographs, letters to Owen relating to his resignation from his position of Chairman from Arts for Labour, etc. The second album covers the late 1980s into early 1990s and features Last Of The Summer Wine photographs, clippings and interviews, theatrical productions, personal appearances, an original proof copy of the dustcover for Owen's autobiography 'A Cluttered Life' and many clippings / letters relating to the books' release. Featuring two early c1950s / 1960s scrapbook albums covering Owen's theatre and early film career and is filled with programmes, clippings, reviews, photographs, event photographs. Unfortunately these two early albums have suffered water damage and are 'AF'. The other x5 albums feature Owen in his Last Of The Summer Wine years and include many clippings, on-set photographs, public engagements, ephemera, letters and documents relating to his supporting of the Labour Party, photographs of Owen alongside Brian Wilde and Peter Sallis at an event, and many other items. The album is filled with personally taken on-set photographs (appearing to be candid images as well as unseen professionally taken images), newspaper cuttings, Tom's first ever Daily Call Sheet and his used LOTSW Lunch Voucher, letters and cards, a handwritten joke letter from Peter Sallis to Tom regarding running lines in his caravan before a take, photographs of Tom with Norman Wisdom on-set, a behind-the-scenes photograph of the 'See Ya Compo' hillside scene, official BBC publicity images of Tom, and many others. All housed in a red photograph album, with a photograph to the front. A unique, personal and important archive of Last Of The Summer Wine memorabilia.

From The Estate Of Bill Owen (1914-1999) - Last Of The Summer Wine - Bill Owen's production made Cast / 'Director's' chair, as used daily on-set by Owen during filming of the classic BBC sitcom during the late 1990s. Wooden construction, with blue fabric seat and backrest with white 'Bill Owen' text to the rear. It is well documented in on-set photographs and videos that the main cast were issued with chairs of this type, with this one being the final made for Owen before his death in 1999. The chair was then passed to his son Tom Owen (who would appear in the series after Bill's death as his fictional son Tom Simmonite). Tom Owen used this chair in honour of his father during many theatre productions, and there are photographs documenting it's use in many of Tom's personal scrap books (also included within this auction). The chair exists in used but generally very good condition. A unique and special piece of Last Of The Summer Wine history.

Includes: - a letter from Alan J. W. Bell dated 18th January 2000 which discusses Tom's first appearances and his future on the series 'it is still too soon to expose you to the inevitable comparison with your father. Therefore, whilst we want you to stay with the series and be an important element, we don't want you to be a firm member of the trio just yet. The idea is that you will become the third man by degrees...' - a letter from writer Roy Clarke dated 23rd January 2000 who writes to Tom thanking him for his work and for the difficulty in 'mixing fiction and fact' surrounding writing out Compo and writing in Tom. - a letter from writer Roy Clarke dated 15th October 2000 congratulating him on his first series, 'This time you were on your own as it were. I couldn't be more pleased that I keep hearing good things about you.' - a letter from writer Roy Clarke dated 1st July 2001 going in-depth regards Tom's character and his work on the series to date 'You're here and you're here to stay. Not as a favour, Tom. I clearly see the value of you as an addition to the oddballs already in place. I like this little would-be conman...' - two framed personally-owned cast photographs taken on-set during production of the c2000s / 2001 series. All cast and crew present.  Various sizes, each as displayed in Owen's home for many years. Unique and poignant items from the BBC sitcom.
