2018 Le Petit Cheval Blanc (Chateau Cheval Blanc)BordeauxOWC3x75clA wonderful and rather exotic white with aromas of pears, lychees, lemons and some green apples that follow through to the palate and show layers of dreamy texture and a long, flavourful finish. The texture is more like a red that a white. Fermented and aged in slightly larger oak barrels. This is a special wine and the best release so far. Very intense. 74% sauvignon blanc and 26% semillon. 1970 Chateau Latour, 1er Cru ClassePauillac10 bottles T/S, 1 bottle M/S, 1 bottle I/NOWC12x75clThe 1970 Latour is one of the top performing wines of the 1970 vintage scoring an impressive 98/100 Parker Points. Parker Wine Advocate: "One of the top two or three wines of the vintage (Petrus and Trotanoy are noteworthy rivals). The opaque garnet colour is followed by a huge, emerging nose of black fruits, truffles, walnuts, and subtle tobacco/Graves-like scents. Full-bodied, fabulously concentrated and intense, with a sweet inner-core of fruit (a rarity in most 1970 Medoc's), and high but well-integrated tannin, this enormously endowed, massive Latour should hit its prime by the end of the century and last for 2-3 decades thereafter. This is will be the longest-lived and potentially most classic wine of the vintage." These bottles have been cellared well for almost 5 decades. The wooden case is brittle and weak following woodworm treatment last year..

Hew Blair from Justerinis and I tried a stunning bottle of 1929 Angludet in the early 2000's and i always remember his words " god these must have been brutes when they were young"I think this will be a fascinating bottle to try , it looks in great condition and there was no hiding from such a great weather in 1929 to make a poor wine
