A SMALL CHINESE DOUCAI PORCELAIN WINE CUP, KANGXI MARK. Finely potted, decorated to the exterior with lotus pond in enamels with further inscription and square mark reading 'to cherish' in underglaze blue. Six character mark of Kangxi in double ring to base. 6.3cm diam. On a later wooden display stand.Slight glaze fault to rim with small nick to foot rim with no signs of cracks or repairs. Provenance: Property of Dennis Young, son to Sir Mark Aitchison Young GCMG (1886-1974) who served as Governor of Hong Kong between 1941 and 1947, thence by descent.
A fine 'Jubilee Canteen' of 23ct gold on silver plated flatware by Carrs of Sheffield - c.2002, issued in a limited edition to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the 12 person suite of Kings pattern cutlery comprising 150 pieces, including 12 each of table knives and dessert knives (both with stainless steel blades), fish knives and forks, dessert forks and spoons, table forks, soup spoons, tea spoons, coffee spoons and butter spreaders, plus a pair of wine coasters, a three-piece carving set, four table spoons, a sauce ladle, a pie server, a cheese knife, two butter knives, two cranberry spoons, a fruit serving spoon and a bride's knife, contained in the original fitted piano finish two-drawer mahogany canteen with oval brass handles, sterling silver-gilt maker's plaque and keys, the canteen 54 x 43.5 x 31 cm, mounted on a separate matched low stand with gilt brass legs. * Purchased by the vendor from Harrods in Knightsbridge, London * Condition: In excellent condition - the vendor assures us that it has been used just two or three times and it does appear to remain in very fine condition with almost no evidence of use. It is complete. All of the pieces are in fine condition with no wear, scratching or other faults. The canteen case itself is in excellent condition, with no faults - complete with key.
A set of six Lalique Roxane coloured wine glasses - comprising four differently coloured and two clear glasses, with tulip shaped bowls, on plain stems with frosted knops modelled as two entwined female figures and grapes, each with etched signature to foot, 19 cm high, contained in the original lidded grey card box, with internal sponge and card packing and Lalique control slip. * Condition: In excellent condition - rarely, if ever used, since purchase. No faults. Tape repairs to two box lid corners.

Two wine glasses and an ale glass, c.1740-60, the taller wine with a small bowl engraved with fruiting vine, the other with an ogee bowl engraved with a stag hunt, both over multi-series opaque twist stems, the ale glass with a slender funnel bowl engraved with hops and barley over a plain stem and folded foot, some faults, 18.2cm max. A composite stem wine glass, c.1750, the drawn funnel bowl raised on an airtwist stem above a plain baluster section enclosing two rows of tears, and a small wine glass with drawn trumpet bowl over a thick mercury twist, foot faults, 17.8cm max. LONDON, Finsbury Circus, London Institution, 1807, copper by W. Wyon (3), arms of the City, lion crest above, numbers (207*, 363, 918*) engraved below, revs. robed female seated right, lamp of wisdom to right, 43mm, 29.60g, 36.96g, 43.30g (W 2671; D & W 157/435) [3]. Very fine and better £80-£100 --- The first medal was awarded to John Woollam (1788-1869), of Woollam, Hughes & Co, silkmen, 9 Warnford court, Throgmorton street, who was resident at Hampstead and whose family was involved in the founding of the Abbey Silk Mills, St Albans, to where he removed sometime after the 1841 Census; he is buried at St Albans Abbey. The second medal was awarded to Henry Edward Dibbin (1809-47), wine merchant, 3 1/2 Basing lane; he married Anne Bamford, née Ormiston (1810-51) in June 1835 and they had two daughters. The third medal was awarded to Timothy Tyrrell Jr, of Tyrrell, Paine & Layton, solicitors, Guildhall yard.
