A Worcester wine funnel, circa 1754, painted in bright famille rose enamels with blue and orange rocks from which grows flowering peony branches and bamboo, 11cm high/Provenance: The Cohen Collection, exhibited Albert Amor Ltd. June 1992 Exhibited: 'Worcester Porcelain 1751-1900': A loan exhibition from Dyson Perrins Museum, Worcester and Private Collections. Dreweatt Neate , 1995 No 4; 'Worcester Porcelain 1751-2001', Albert Amor Ltd 2001/Note: the last polychrome funnel sold at auction was Christie's, 16 December 2010, lot 193, from The Barratt Collection, Crowe Hall, Bath CONDITION REPORT: This is an excellent example. Base rim of the funnel in perfect condition, the upper rim with several minute chips although all appear to be underglaze. Very small firing crack to the body close to the upper rim and only visible to the interior. Enamels bright and in excellent condition. Small glaze fault to the exterior close to the smaller flower clump. Small patch of scratched glaze over the end of one of the long branches also on the exterior.
A Regency mahogany wine cooler, of sarcophagus shape, the hinged cover enclosing a fitted zinc lined interior, on leaf carved feet with castors, 73.5cm wide/see illustration CONDITION REPORT: The polished surface is a little uneven and there is a small crack to right side, interior is a little scuffed but otherwise good.I will ask a colleague to get in touch about glass and silver.
