Campbell Singer (born Jacob Kobel Singer; 16 March 1909 - 16 February 1976) was a British character actor who featured in a number of stage, film and television roles during his long career. He was also a playwright and dramatist. Larry Noble (born 13 December 1914 in Huddersfield, West Riding of Yorkshire) was a stage comedian and actor best known for starring in the Whitehall farces with Brian Rix. He starred in the original production of Reluctant Heroes and as the chirpy French jockey in Dry Rot. On television, he made guest appearances on Last of the Summer Wine in 1975 and Blake's 7 in 1981. He died on 9 September 1993, aged 78. Good Condition. He was the father of actor Tom Owen. He is best known for portraying Compo Simmonite in the Yorkshire-based BBC comedy series Last of the Summer Wine for 27 years. *ALASTAIR MICHIE (1921-2008) An abstract sculpture aluminium, 22.5cm high x 32cm wide x 12cm deep, standing on a black composite plinth base, 28cm high overallSon of the artist Anne Redpath, Alastair Michie was born in northern France and educated in France and Scotland. He studied architecture in Edinburgh and began his career as a freelance graphic artist, following the completion of war service as a pilot in the Royal Air Force. During the 1960s, Michie began to produce paintings and sculptures and ultimately turned to working in acrylic and mixed media. In 1984 he was elected to the Royal West of England Academy and exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Scottish Academy. He moved to Dorset in 1950, and sold from his studio, a large wine vault below the splendid Queen Anne house in Wareham where he lived with his second wife Sally from 1961 onwards.
