DALMORE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY, KING ALEXANDER III, Alness, Inverness-shire, 70cl, 40%, in presentation carton This single malt whisky from The Dalmore Distillery was crafted to honour the act of saving Scotland's King in 1263 - this expression unites six specially selected casks housing spirit of perfect maturity. Whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry wood, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques are brought together in perfect harmony. Each cask gives its own flavour notes, delivering a unique complex single malt whisky revered by connoisseurs.
Two Large English 19th Century Stoneware Wine Jars, Hawes, Yorkshire. The largest coated in an olive-green glaze with impressions around the shoulder “E.CLARKSON & Co., WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANTS, HAWES, 1406, J.KILBURN MANUFATURER”. Height 44.5cm, (17.5 inches). The other jar coated in a paler green glaze, with incised number “487” and an appliqué impressed “E.CLARKSON & Co., WINE & SPIRIT MERCHANTS, HAWES”. Height 38cm (15 inches).Hawes is a small market town in North Yorkshire and E.Clarkson & Co. are mentioned in the list of professions and trades for Hawes in Bulmer’s Directory of 1890.Provenance: from the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.

Comprising a black & red lacquered saucer dish with gold floral pattern, with a collection or museum number painted within the foot ring (diameter 11.75cm); a red lacquered footed bowl (diameter 8.5cm); a larger black-lacquered bowl (diameter 13.5cm); a set of five bamboo wine cups with silver and gold decoration on the covers which can also act as small dishes (height 8cm); a wooden dish, signed and with lacquered leaf patterns (diameter 17cm). 19th – 20th century.
