An assortment of Georgian and later drinking glasses and three pieces of ceramics. Including wine glasses with etched decoration, candle holders, a lidded pot, etc. Max. H22cm Condition Report: One of the glasses has a chip to the rim and sides however the others appear to be in decent condition. Some signs of wear including light scratches and rubbing. The handle of one of the jugs has been broken and repaired.
An original WW1 era Military Cross, complete with original fitted case. Unnamed as issued, with silk ribbon and stitched on pin bar. Notes: with correct countersunk hole to the suspension ring, and tombstone shaped suspender attached to the ribbon bar. Deep maroon / wine coloured case. Condition: very good. The medal has a pleasing frosted appearance to the surface, with a little toning in places. The ribbon and pin bar are original to the piece. The top lid of the case has some superficial scuffing in places.
An 18th century heavy bronze Bacchus statue of a boy wearing a crown of grape leaves. The figure holding a bunch of grapes in his hand, the other hand with a hole. Possibly depicting Bacchus, god of wine and pleasure. Measuring approx. 21cm tall. All lots in this auction are part of a private collection of antiquities and later effect, mainly collecting Roman, Viking, Egyptian and Asian antiques. The collection having been amassed over a 30-40 year period. The items in the auction has been purchased at various auction, private collections and museums over the years.
