Oggi si vinificano parcelle di Grand Cru e Premier Cru nei comuni di Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges e Gevrey Chambertin. E proprio da questo ultimo comune arriva il famoso Clos de Bèze, uno dei Grand Cru più interessanti dell’intera denominazione. Il 2010, prodotto in modo naturale, è un grandissimo vino, ancora giovane e da bersi senza problemi nei prossimi vent’anni. In 2018 the domaine Prieuré Roch will celebrate its 30 years of activity. They have come a long way and from their initial 4 hectares they have expanded to their current 14. Today the winery produces Grand Cru and Premier Cru in the municipalities of Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey Chambertin. From the last one comes the famous Clos de Bèze, one of the most interesting Grand Crus of the whole designation. Il 1997 è stato considerato da molti critici come perfetto, anche se il calore piuttosto intenso nel periodo estivo ha contribuito a darci dei Barolo molto ricchi di frutta rossa, in alcuni casi anche in modo eccessivo. Non è certo il caso del Monfortino, che nascendo a Serralunga gode di climi più freschi. Il 1996 è un millesimo molto classico, reticente a concedersi quando era troppo giovane, ora comincia a essere in grande spolvero. Infine il 1995 che Giovanni Conterno ha saputo interpretare alla grande. A definitely intriguing triptych. With vintages with very different characteristics. SF L’inizio degli anni 2000 per il Barolo e in generale per l’enologia italiana è stato molto particolare perché abbiamo registrato condizioni climatiche molto differenti. Il 2000 è stato torrido in estate e la rivista Wine Spectator ha assegnato i 100/100 al millesimo in Langa (probabilmente sopravvalutandone la valutazione). Il 2001 più fresco e classico, dando risultati strabilianti con il Barolo. Nel 2002 non ha smesso ad agosto e luglio di piovere e anche di grandinare. A Serralunga no, cosa che ha consentito ai Conterno, sempre molto coerenti e seri in questo, di uscire nonostante tutto con il Monfortino 2002. Un’etichetta mitica, perché ha dimostrato a tutto il mondo come la determinazione, la serietà e la bravura possono dare grandi risultati anche quando il tempo non è clemente. For Barolo and, in general, for Italian winemaking, the year 2000 has been a very particular year, because of its really different climatic conditions. The year 2000 had searing hot in the summer and the magazine Wine Spectator has awarded 100/100 to the vintage in Langa (probably wrongly). The 2001 was cooler and more classic, offering great results for Barolo. In 2002 rains, and even hailstorms, carried on throughout July and August. Not in Serralunga, allowing the Conterno, always very consistent and serious in this, to produce the Monfortino 2002 in spite of everything. A wine vessel [Shang Dynasty type sculpture / artefact], but there are signs of an iron rod structure inside the vessel [rusted away long ago], which suggest it may have been adapted for another use during its lifetime. [generally good condition – some deposits as expected and slight damage to inside lip of lid, which you can only see when you lift the lid off]. End of Art and Artefacts.
